ive been pulled over twice asked to pop my hood once, when the cop looked at my engine he said i had intake and headers, i just told him na i dont and he said ok. i also have a boost gauge on my a pillar.drive smart and youll be ok, i pay 150$ for smog.

 

think I am going to put my cats back on before I get out there and since my reg. is due here in GA I am going to get it renewed here before I leave and they ship my car out. This is such a huge undertaking. Fortunately, I shouldn't have to use AC much so hopefully my tint doesn't become an issue as well. damn, I am really looking forward to being back in cali but this sucks. lol

 

If you have out of state plates and a living address outside of Cali in a state that has no smog regulations, you are good. The police can't do anything to you here. I sold a catless exhaust that's retarded loud to a guy who has Texas plates and he's doing fine.

You need to have a legal residential address out of state, and register your car in that state, I believe...

 

I thought you also had to have that states drivers license as well or the cops give you a time limit to register it in CA or they suspend your license. Thats what i heard anyways.....

Stay out of Irvine then...I was pulled over in Irvine for doing a 40 in a 45 by Irvine PD...I was minding my own business and the cop wrote me for everything...my car is FAR from street legal too. I will agree being mellow is KEY, but that only takes you so far until you run into an @sshole cop.

Im still dealing with the ticket btw...I got lucky though and it was reduced from a ref ticket to just a normal smog ticket. BTW can anybody point me in the right direction for a smog in OC? I need somebody that can pass this bish!

 

irvine pd are dicks! when i was at uci i used to have a civic, and god it took 3 sets of cops to pull me over, 1 to watch me, another to watch him... and the last well, i have no clue but i saw a **** load of cops! ... they even broke out the measuring tape to measure the height of my ride because it "looked" lowered.
do you mind telling us what part of irvine did you get rolled? im always rolling around the university plus always near alton because of the restaurants

 

3 cops not because they are scared or concerned with you, but because there is nothing else to do. That is the honest truth.

If cops aren't doing anything and are literally bored, they'll roll up to other peoples stops just to see what's up. It's retarded. I've been on plenty of ride alongs to witness this first hand.
