I'm hoping to be there. I've got a wierd noise coming from my suspension that I need to fix before I go flying around the curves of Palomar. Hopefully I'll have some new tires by then, too. I think Blueandgoldrex (Gus) is going, too.

Thumbs up It's Next Week!

One more week to go until our drive! I'll provide drive directions/map at the meet location.

See below for quick instructions on how to get to the meet location:

Directions to Meet Place (Please show up around 9AM, drive starts exactly at 9:30AM Saturday 12/6):
We will meet at the Gas Station on Hwy 76 right next to the Pala Casino at 11154 Highway 76 (East of the 15 about 5.5 miles). The Casino and gas station is on the Right. The Gas Station is right before the casino. It is hard to miss the Casino as it is huge and has a few big flashing signs. I’ve got directions below:

From LA/OC near Hwy 5: Take 5 South to Hwy 76 which you take for about 23 miles East total (you will cross the 15, then about 5.5 miles later reach our meeting place). As this freeway has many stop lights, it takes a little bit longer to travel as the 23 miles suggests.

From LA/OC near Hwy 15: Take 15 South to Hwy 76 which you take for about 5.5 miles East.

From San Diego: If near Hwy 8, take 8 to 15, take 15 North, then take Hwy 76 East for about 5.5 miles.

From San Diego/North County: Hwy 78 to 15 N to 76 E is a good route to the meet location.

Jeff, Is your car the one with the performance Nissan stickers on it? (not sure if that is your personal car). I definatly want to meet you and discuss the Dreamworks supercharger.

Hey spacemanspiff, something came up for that weekend so I can't go. Thanks for the invitation though, I'm sure it would've been a blast.

Jason, take a look at the first post in this thread, or my post a few above this one which gives a description of the meet location. Mapquest to 11154 Highway 76 as the street name, put Pala as the city.

I tried Map Quest with 11154 Highway 76 and San Diego as the city.

Now it works with Pala.

Thank you

To Mr Twisted: These are typical paved mountain roads, mostly smooth but you will hit a few bumps/dips now and again. I think your low clearance Z will be ok, you may just need to go a bit slower during some of the twisty area as this is where the roads are a bit less traveled and a bit more rough. Most of the drive will be on really good and smooth condition roads. We've done this drive every 2 months or so during the last year, so many of us are very familiar with it.

you should be fine, i've done it a number of times in my 300ZX with about the same amount of ground clearance and been ok.
