Default anyone know a good paint shop in san diego that does not charge an arm or a leg?

hey guys,

i need help finding a good paint shop that have good quality but decent fee. I went to East San Diego and parked my car in the hood for one day and got keyed!!! not one door but both doors and passenger front side panel too. i am trying to find a good shop to repaint it. hopefully it is not much.

please let know know your recommendations. thanks

a friend told me to find a guy on craigslist to paint it for really cheap. he said that guy painted his front& rear bumper for a civic for 150 dollars. that is including labor and paint. the thing is his car is black and my z is pearl white. His paint look good but i am afraid my will come out weird after a while. therefore i need a shop that could match it. another friend to me to go down to his auto paint technician school and let his teacher and some students paint it for cheap. this idea scared me. i think he want to experience painting on my zZ.

Careful with the craiglist painters. There were a bunch of dudes running a scam on there. They would pull out dents and paint it, then cover everything with some hard plaster crap and tell them it would peel off after 24 hours........ Obviously it doesnt it just ruins your car. And the business phone is now disconnected.

Im having some stuff done on my moms car at this place called Marlos Body Shop in national city. Hes pretty affordable and their work looks great, hes been painting since he was like 12 lol. I will see tomorrow if he does a good job on my moms car. Tell him your broke and he will work with you on the price .

Here it is,
Marlo's Auto Specialties
223 Civic Center Drive, National City, CA 91950-4316
(619) 477-1033 ‎

Like i said i have never dealt with him until now i was just refered to him as an affordable option. He actually told me some tips to save me money instead of charging me to fix my car. I like people like that. I will let you know how it goes when the work is done.

All right so my opinion. What basically had to be done was a body kit was cracked and broken in multiple pieces and was missing chunks of the kit, and painted silver.

Color is perfect, all major cracks are gone and solid peices. Missing chunks were redone and look great in day light. At night with a flash light i found a few small cracks that were missed and some areas that were not completely smoothed out. But over all it looks pretty dam good, new condition perfect lighting .

I would say there are imperfections because he was sort of rushed. We could only be out of a car a few days so dropped it off on monday and got it back wednesday night. If more time was taken maybe it could have been completely perfect??

I should have taken before and after pics......

Ended up costing 800 to remold, repair with fiber glass resin, rebracket the steps, and repaint. Started at 1000 then we said we couldn't afford it, then the dude came down. I say go there and see what he says.

He will proabably ask you how much you want to spend, so have a number in mind.

For comparison go to elite auto @ 4949 baltimore drive la mesa ca 91941. They restored a bad accident to factory new a few years ago and did amazing work for a good price. They may be even cheaper.

To OP, I recently had a fender bender on my 1st Gen Lexus GS300, the color is Starfire Pearl. I took my car to Chapparone Auto Body & Painting and was very pleased with the result. Their address is: 8039 Balboa Ave, Suite A, San Diego CA 92111, (858)505-0900 and ask for Matt Senner. Good lucks !!
