Mercedes gave my Z a kiss
Hey guys. It was great seeing everyone at MM. Alvin, Albert, nice meeting you guys. The rest, good to see you again.
So anyway, here are some pics of my Z's encounter with a mercedes. It's not terribly damaged, but still. I wish I would have gotten some pics before it was in the shop, and being worked on already. The total damages come to $3041. Quarter panel is gonna be repaired, and painted, the bumper is gonna be repaired and painted, wheel is gonna be reconditioned, and most of the right rear suspension needs to be replaced. No broken axle, and the diff is fine too, thankfully. Insurance company is still dealing with stuff. No fault has been determined yet.
Should have the car back on december 2nd. So here are some pics.

Yeah, sorry to hear the bad news... ouch... I too fully support the concept that accidents are the best time to pick up body kits. I hit a deer once with my 300zx back in the day and ended up completely replacing the body with a wings west kit. All it takes is a body shop thats willing to fudge the part #'s and you're good to go (besides, oftentimes the insurance companies can save money by replacing parts with "similar quality aftermarket components")
Good luck!

Well, they're not replacing the bumper, just taking care of some relatively minor damage. Plus they've already gotten into fixing it, so I doubt it'll be a possibility.

Ouch, i hate to see Z's tainted by another dirty dirty car's presence. I'm glad you're ok and everything's being taken care of. If need be, gimme the License plate of that car that hit you. I'll take care of them boss!

Talked to my insurance agent today. She said she declared me not at fault. Apparently she said that she talked to him and he told her that he had reported the accident to his insurance, and he hadn't. And she said his story sounded flaky, and didn't quite fit right, so she declared me not at fault.
The shop said they just got the suspension parts, and they said I should have the car back late thursday, or early friday. So I still have to pay my $1000 deductable, and if his insurance company accepts liability, I get it back from them, but if they don't, I file for subrogation, and let the insurance companies fight it out. That's it for now. Looks like everything's gonna work out, but if they don't accept liability, then it'll be a little bit of a pain in the ***, but at least my insurance isn't gonna go up.
