Default Soon to be reunited with Z

Finally coming home to spend some much needed time with my Z, shes been neglected for the last year due to deployments and workups for them. Have a lot of stuff planned for all the extra money thats in my bank. Just have to convince the wife to let me do what i want to MY Car. But, she will get jelous so i figure i will keep my mods down to 3 grand. had a few questions on sugestion on what would be good first mods.

I was thinking of doing the akebono BBK for my car because i need to replace my brakes, plus i can convince my wife it needs to be done because of saftey issues with the increased stoping power, If i got this proubally be one of the only mods i get.

Just wondering if i would get similar performance if i just went with the Stage 2 kit, its like 1000 cheaper but i want to take my car to the track in the future. Plus it would be able to get a bassani exhaust.

What year is your Z? I'd highly suggest a set of used OEM Brembo's if possible but the Akebono's are more for looks if anything else.

At the very minimum you have upgraded calipers(03-05 have single piston) you might want to look at the upgrade kit. Thanks for the compliments and good luck. I'm in the Hellman btw.

I've been trying to find some reviews of the upgrade kit but can't find ones that compare it, but I'm sure there is not hard number comparison of both of them. I like to drive cannons, and by the time I'm at bottom or destination I have no brakes left. so I go check out my rotors to try to tell how hot they were and u can feel quite a bit of heat on legs standing near them. Only comparisons I can find is the OEM setup on a Z to the Z with the akebono.

Need to make sure that my passenger is safe: Wife or daughter (never go on curvy roads with daughter) someone needs to be able to collect life insurance check.

I was trying to do a BBK on a budget op, I was between the Brembos and an Akebono kit. Most people want at leats $800 for the brembo calipers, sometimes a lot more. They are harder and harder to find in good shape and for a good price.

I got all four akebono calipers for $600 and they are in great shape, the total cost after I get brackets and everything else should be about $1200-1300.
That includes brackets, new rotors and pads, SS lines

People say the brembos are better, I don't have either, but my dad's g37 has the akebono and I think they are pretty good

I don't track my car either though, just need them for zdayz

Iv been finding complete kits for the 370 for arround 1200, then brackets for 200$, that save me some money just have to deal with fact they are not brand new.
