Anyone does any salt water fishing in San Diego?
I'm going to be in North Island next week for the entire week and I'm going to do some shore/pier fishing while there. Was wondering if any does any fishing, specially over at a NASNI pier that could share some tips for this spot.
im not in SD, but i fish alot between SM and SB both piers and surf. check out scsurffishing(dot)com youll find a bunch of info on that site from a bunch of great guys. do yourself a favor though, and get a pack of Berkeley Gulp Sandworms in Camo or Red. the short one's will save you the trouble of cutting them into 2inch pieces. carolina rig that on a 2 foot leader and you're set for the surf. happy fishing!

I have tried all the one you mentioned and really no luck. The only thing I caught so far is a few Sand Bass and not big enough to brag about it. I think the waters still too cold and the weather lately has been crap. I'm hoping Saturday it will pick up after the weather gets better.
Went today (NASNI fishing pier) and it was pretty good...even with the crappy weather. I couldn't handle 2 poles. As I put one down my other one was running. Between me and my budy, we filled my cooler with Sand Bass, Halibut and a 4 lbs Croaker (didn't know they get that big). We are not targeting anything specific other than Halibut. Would like to get something that would give a decent fight but I guess I need to go to deeper waters for that.
