I got a free 350Z (35th Anniversary) but...
It needs some TLC...
The engine still runs but it's really rough. I checked the oil dip stick and the whole thing was covered in black oil which smelled a lot like gas. The crazy thing is, there is no CEL.
I've been doing some research and I was thinking of having SRMOTORCARS take a look at it and have them rebuild it If that's what she needs.
My questions are: Has anyone rebuilt there engine through SRMOTORCARS? How much am I looking at If it needs a rebuild??? TIA
Here's a pic the day she came home.

Yeah, my dad is relocating back to the motherland so he decided to leave the car to me but I just don't like the fact I might have to drop some serious cash to get the car back on the road.
If I'm you, would try some regular and cheap maintenance first. Such as spark plugs and air filter element change, fresh oil and MAF sensor cleaning. AFR check should be helpful too.
If I were in your shoes, I'd spend the money and take it to a reliable dealership. Get it looked at by Nissan then do what you want. Its not like you bought it or anything.
Just curious, would you sell it?

There are hundreds of shops in So Cal. Find one, take the car there and get it looked at. 100-200.00 at most for diagnosis that should go to the cost of repair.
Why is daddy gave me a car the headline of your thread?

It is the Rev Up engine, I thought only the '06s had that problem... Is there a remedy for the OC issue?
If its a rev-up it is possible it might have an OC problem. Year doesn't matter. I don't think there is much of a remedy except pay attention and don't flog the ish out of it.
This might not be your problem unless the previous owner neglected to watch the oil or any other problem associated with the OC problem. If the engine is eating oil then there is something else that is going on. I couldn't tell you what but if there is one problem internally with a car very seldom is there not another problem. As stated before, get a trusted mechanic shop or a "stealer ship" to do a full check up and a quick service tune up. Should run you at absolute most $5-600 if its needing a service bad
