Default Need a professional interior cleaner

I need a professional detailer to help me clean out a milk stain on the carpet. Half gallon of milk exploded in the heat and got soaked into the carpet. I tried to clean it as best as I could.. but still can somewhat smell that odor.

any recommendations? I live in Walnut, 91789. Anywhere in SGV, LA, or even OC.. need a prof. shop that has vacuums to wash it out..

thanks

That much milk got UNDER the carpet. You won't get the smell out without cleaning everything including the foam and insulation under the carpet. The only way to clean it effectively is to remove the carpet. It's more work up front but will be totally worth it.

I've done this. Remove the seat, remove the center console, and other trim pieces that cover/hold the edges of the carpet (kick panel, door sill trim, etc). The two halves (driver and passenger) of the carpet are only connected with two small strips that go over the transmission tunnel. Cut them so so you can remove only the dirty side.

Now you can wash however you so please. I used Dawn dish detergent in the bath tub to get out cat **** (don't ask). I was able to fully submerge it in scalding hot water and leave it out to completely dry. No hint to the original smell or mustiness from damp carpet/insulation. Carpet was better than new also, you'd be surprised how dirty the carpet is even if it looks clean. The water in the tub was nasty brown! :vomit:

When you put the carpet back in, reattach the two strips you cut somehow. I just tapped them. The console covers the whole area so you don't see it. It's probably not even necessary to worry about it.

Why not rake the matts to a dry cleaner?
Probably not more than $6 a piece
but for everything else.......

the matts are out already.. dumped almost a bottle of vinegar to cover the smell and sprayed some baking soda just now. tomorrow I'm taking it to a professional to do a steam vac.. then I'll use the spray Cheston recommended and wipe it for a week or two..

fingers crossed.. hope I don't have to tear out the carpet

so a little update.. the vinegar and baking soda really helped..

There's a local car wash that ordered some special cleaning powder and wet vac'd my carpet.. I left the windows open the whole night. Today, the smell is 85% gone.. now it smells like a hint of milk with a hint of sour (vinegar) and some hints of mint.. car wash wanted me to go back Friday for a 2nd job to remove the rest of odor..

in the mean while, i've been spraying pet stain removals and Glad carpet powder with baking soda over night.. then vacuuming it in the morning. Hope it works out.. if not, time to cut some carpet out

Good luck! Hope it works.

Between the effort and money you already spent and that last little bit of nagging odor (mixed with the new smells you introduced), you could have just done what I suggested!
