Default help.. gas leaking from tank.. need repair shop in SD

So my 350z is leaking gas. I have a smell of gasoline in the cabin and I believe it is due to me. I re-installed an amp in the pocket behind the drivers seat and re-screwed the ground cable which became lose. So I re-screwed it with a slightly larger screw. Well I think I ended up screwing myself.

I took it to nissan. Same bs I got when they were going to fix the fuel fluctuation. "We need to pull out the gas tank." I ended up fixing the fuel sensor fluctuations with the thread of the g35 owner (i think). I never replaced the o-rings when i did that tho, but it makes no sense they would fail now.

Only thing i did recently, was re-ground my wire from the amp with a larger screw, so I think that is the end problem.

Nissan wants over $1200 to fix it. By dropping the tank, etc. I know this is a big issue and I am kicking myself for it because I know it's my fault. The thing is I don't really have the cash to get it fixed.

I'm honestly thinking of draining the tank myself and cutting into the original place I put the screw. I'm thinking if i can open up the hole by 1 inch. I'd be able to access the puncture in the tank and patch with some type of gas tank sealant. I know this is a long shot. I'd have to try and cut or weaken the surrounding metal area to open it up.. all without causing heat or sparks.

I would also be open to take it to another shop. One that has a mechanic that has hopefully done this before. BUT I need some recommended shops around San Diego. I know to drop a tank will end being a lot of work but I also want the car to be put back together properly.

My last option, which i found searching on here, is that my car falls under a Nissan recall of a fuel filler hose. Apparently it had the potential to crack. In order to fix it, the gas tank had to come out. I am hoping this recall hasn't been done to my car yet and I could work out a deal to get the leak fixed since that tank would already be taken out.. If my car falls under it. Which it should because it's a 2003.

Ugh..

Any recommendations for car shops in sd? Input? Advise?
