Dunno about L.A. but in Orange County the Orange Hill Restraunt has an awesome view of O.C.

I used to live in the houses across from it and my god what a view.

Umm, do you really want to be up at Grifith Observatory after dark?

Last time I was there (albeit like 10 years ago) it was really run down and a lot of gang activity.

As for the restaurant....
don't go there for the food. The food blows...
but the views IS splendid.

I agree with azizam77

Yamashiro has a great view, food is okay, and the aesthetics of the restaurant if great. They have a kabuki theatre and a giant koi pond inside. It located next to the Magic Castle. Off of Franklin I believe.
