Default Why not do both?

I have had fairly strong interest in the Big Willow event on June 4 from other 350Z owners in the L.A. Z Club and on the boards, and will continue to promote it. Both tracks on June 14?

What is the cost? How many cars, run groups, etc. I can't imagine wanting to spend a minute on Streets of Willow if the big track is available, but each to his own.

P.S. I have never heard of your group before. I will check out the website.

John Harris -

Your post here says the two track event at Willow Springs is on June 14, but your website says it is on June 17. Which is it?

Default Sign up now for Big Willow June 4

OK, we are all set to move forward with the 350Z track event on the big road course at Willow Springs Raceway on June 4. The price for the whole day is $120, and it includes timing equipment, which you normally would have to pay at least an extra $20 for. Timing your laps to see how much you improve over the course of the day is very informative, and most drivers really like it. Don't forget the track also charges a $10 gate fee for each person entering.

Instruction is available with two options: three drivers sharing one instructor for $10 for each driver, or a one-on-one instructor for $30. I highly recommend that beginners do one or the other.

Please get yourself a DOT/Snell 90 or better helmet. I got an open-face model at a motorcycle shop for $70 that works just fine. I still need to see if helmet rentals are available at the track, I'm not sure.

Please go sign up and pay your money now. Go to www.speedventures.net to sign up for the event at Big Willow on June 4. If you cancel, there is a $30 fee to get the remainder of your money back. Don't worry about whatever it says on the website about what you get for your $120, the timing equipment is included for the 350Z group.

Now that all those financial details are out of the way, let's go out and blow the doors off those S2000s! LOL

We just had FX Performance out to our last meeting with their 350Z. They are currently promoting the same type of series. You may want to contact them.

Default Anyone else plan on driving up on Thursday?

OK. I just signed up for 06-04-2004 day at Willow Springs. I will probably go up the night before. I don't want to drive for a couple of hours on the day of the 350Z Challenge Series, and be tired at the start of the day.

If anyone else is planning on going up the day before, let me know where you plan to stay. I'll wait a couple of days before making my hotel reservations.

Can we sign up JUST for the track day, or do we have to pay the $65 convention cost also? $35 for streets is a steal!

BTW, see you guys on the 4th w/ my Z32. Hopefully I'll still get the free timing gear. Signed up for the instructor too, since all my track time has been on two wheels. Can't wait!

Oh, and if you want a hotel, devonshire inn is 10 minutes from the track.

Hey there Hunter Z,
I wonder if the G35s would qualify for the 'Z' Challenge?

It so happens I do all my track events with Speed Ventures and this time around have managed to gather a small group of G35s to join me (Here). We'll be at Willow Springs the same day.

Either way, we'll see you all there.

... finally more Zs n Gs at the tracks!

Default Details About 350Z Challenge at Big Willow June 4

Here is some more info about June 4 at Big Willow.

The price is $120, and it includes free timing equipment that is a $20 value. There is also a $10 gate fee charged by Willow Springs Raceway. If you want instruction (a must for beginners) you have two choices. For $10 you can share an instructor with 2 other drivers. One-on-one instruction is $30.

Sign up at www.SpeedVentures.net -- Check the box for NO timing equipment, so that they charge you the right amount of $120. Don't worry about what the website says, any 350Z that shows up gets free timing equipment.

Unless you live in Palmdale or Lancaster, I recommend you drive there Thursday night and stay in a hotel. I like the Park Plaza in Lancaster (18 quick hiway miles from Willow Springs). If you tell them you are going to Willow Springs, it is $60 and includes a free full breakfast. Call 661-948-0961 for reservations. There are other hotels in the area that are cheaper ($39) but aren't very nice.

You need a DOT/Snell 90 or better helmet. There will NOT be helmets available for rental at the track, so buy or borrow one. I got an open face motorcycle helmet for $70 that works fine.

You need to be at the track by 7:30 a.m. and the mandatory drivers' meeting is at 8:00 a.m. on Friday June 4. See you there.
