I had some exhaust components installed a few months ago and everybody was quite professional. I was also interested in watching the install (and snapping some digital pics) but Eric politely told me that I was not allowed to be in the garage during the install. It struck me as odd that he would say that but I didn't make an issue out of it. Am I correct to assume that the policy has changed at Street Image?

I totally trust Eric but if other board members are able to witness their installations then I wanna watch also.

I watched behind the black iron gates & took quick pictures (30 sec.) in between the tear down & install. No, the policy has not changed. I too was not allowed to roam around the garage , which I think is just for the best for everyone, both the mechanics & customer. They are very meticulous on what they do & I would not want to disturb them especially when they are working on my car.

That is correct most shop will not allow you to go into the service bay due to insurance liability. Also it keeps them working on your car without any distraction.

jeff,
I'm glad you are enjoying the installation of your dc headers.

everyone,
regarding the insurance policy... it has not changed we do not allow customers to roam around our installation area during the install or at any other time... we will only bring them into the area under supervision to show them our installation jobs or if we are surveying something and need to show them.

This is to protect us and you from accidents and also allow our mechanics to work on your car properly.

IF you are interested in taking pictures we will definitely take pictures for you. But it will take away from our turnaround of your babies.

Thanks

Street Image does nice work, and their shop is so clean you could eat ice cream off the shop floor. But they are pretty freaky about letting customers in the shop area. They blame it on their insurance. I will give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that is true.

Nevertheless, the chances that their insurance agent will come snooping around looking for customers on the shop floor is negligable. The chance that a customer would be hurt in the shop is nil.

Lighten up, Eric and Jeff !!!

I can understand where they're coming from. The bottom line is that your baby ends up being pampered by very qualified people.

This is the same at any shop - not just at Street Image. I was told by another shop that this is because the insurance will not cover any customers inside the garage if something were to happen to them or because of them.

Street Image has nice people. The Shop is very clean.

having customers snooping around the garage is also a bit distracting. I always respected their requests, and would observe from the lobby or outside. I certainly dont wanna be a source of distraction while Eric is working on my car.

That said, when Eric found something interesting or neat that he wanted to show me, he always invited me in for a quick look, and even some pictures...hehe....

Good guys all around. I miss you greatly!

Default Cooling system is great !!!

The Koyo Radiator (filled with 1 1/2 gal. Toyota red-coolant) and Nismo thermostat, installed by Eric at Street Image, work just great. Cool as a cucumber while running Big Willow racetrack in 100+ degree heat. Thanks, Eric and Jeff !!!
