After blowing 2 engines in it total, she decided to get something with a more reliable engine/tranny; a Lotus Elise. </sarcasm> Wonder if she's figured out where fourth gear is yet.

I dunno, I'd feel kinda bad if someone blew their engine, unless they were a real @sswipe. (ie the Altima guy)

Normally, I might feel bad, too.... Nah, she was always talking smack about how much better of a driver she is, etc, etc, even tho I consistently whooped on her (go karting, Mazda rev-it-up, you name it). Besides, it was under warranty *shrug*

I beat Chad!!
Damn, I dunno if it's the car or what but my Z's been running unusually strong today. Did some runs to quantify my butt-dyno. Turns out I'm not bullsh*ting myself after all!
I got in 3 good (ie. no cops around) runs. Got a best 0-60mph run of 5.55 and then got an 0-60mph of 5.59. The other run was a waste...6.89 seconds or something ridiculous. The cause: TCS
Got a career best 0-60ft of 2.18 seconds.
Also a career best 1/8mile of 9.04 seconds @ 81.3 mph
Did my first quarter mile....unforunately, I "slipped" second and skidded for a few tenths (felt like the car was free revving in neutral), bogged down the engine, then kept going.......ahhh, I'm embarrassed to post my quarter mile time.
okay, I got a 14.3 @ 95mph hahaha, that's right, laugh it up; I'll be back with a 13.8, don't you worry

Did some analysis on my runs......turns out I'm a f*ckin' moron!!
I didn't realize how badly being a puzzy can hurt you until I saw the graphs. I've been committing the sin of shifting in the middle of all the important sections of the run (0-60, 1/8) and it takes me a damn long time to shift and get back on the gas (0.43 seconds )
I compared my 0 to 80mph in 10mph intervals to C&D's test (don't flame me!) and I noticed that I'm doing just fine with the C&D driver up until it's time to shift, then I start losing ground and have to then make it up, which I do thanks to Jim's plenum. (Case in point, C&D did 0-80mph in 8.9 sec, I did 0-80 in 8.5, despite being behind their 0-60 by 0.2 sec)
I also could have done the 1/8 in 8.8 or 8.9 seconds because I shifted like a pansy at 81.5 mph and it took me f*ckin' 0.43 seconds to shift and back on the gas. That's the ONLY reason I hit 9.04 at 81.3.
Well, I'm greatly humbled by this experience, but damn, I'm learning a lot. At least I know that in the right hands (ie. not mine), my Z just might be capable of hitting 13.7's in the Q.

i will be hanging out with my girl, and our new puppy...that thing is f'ing cute!!!
everyone have fun tonight, and be safe.
josh, i am glad that you are doing so much analysis on your runs. it is nice to understand what is going on, and at the same time, it makes you a better driver. good to see that you are getting a lot of use out of your toy.

To everyone (especially Jim and Brian): I do realize that what Chad said above leaves me open to many many insults. Hope you realize before you pull a quick one that I'm ready for 'em!!
