The JWT clutch is actually not bad even with the high capacity pressure plate (have driven one). Yes its a little more noisey but for those of us with forced induction on our minds its a good investment. Of course you oculd also go with the Nismo clutch which has a lower rated pressure plate and has a bit softer feel.

Plan for like $500 for install unless your tranny has the grinding issue and you are going to have them replace it. Unless Chad decides to get jiggy with a clutch flywheel install...

Hey Rob,

Have you gotten your Turbonetics kit installed and ready for fun yet? Any other flywheel/clutch combo suggestions that don't make too much noise?

Nope, no grinding issue, unless that includes ultra fast shifting that causes grinding sometimes...lol

500 for install??? No way! that's insane. It's not that much work to replace the clutch and flywheel now is it? Or is this only for dealership installations?

turbonetics kit is installed and is on the dyno as we spe...er type....Tuning going on this week. Road time next week. I plan to go get it a week from Friday. unless they deem it ready for use prior to then. I got to see my baby this weekend. Looking all sexified with the turbo installed and all the good ish. Oh BTW Chad Turbonetics is going to weld on a bung for the EGT for me while they have it up there. They actually had a GREAT spot about 6 " before the exhaust gas goes into the turbo. When you see it you will agree. So that one less then you have to weld. I have not yet recieved that blitz hose so I don't think Im going to be able to sell it before this weekend. If not I may go ahead and buy the parts for your little project anyways. And I also mentioned it to Greg and I think he might be interested in selling that for you as well.

its a few hours worth of work yeah... $500 was my price and I've known Greg for a LONG time. Thats going to be the standard charge at any dealership.

Man, here I thought it was pretty easy just to drop the tranny on a RWD car and just install that.

Will the warranty be voided if I don't have the dealership install the aftermarket flywheel and clutch?

Well, I can get it installed for $350 at a local shop, so I think I'll just do that. *Crossing my fingers the tranny doesn't blow up after the install...

Yeah...good luck. If anything does happen if you get the parts from Greg he may be able to help you out if something unrelated does fail..

hey rob,

i am thinking that you should delete this from your sig:

(Retired)2k3 Frontier XE Desert Runner: AEM Brute Force intake, Panasonic/Clarion/Alpine/US Amps system. All synthetic fluids, Silvannia Siverstars.

(Retired) 2k2 Spec V: AEM CAI, AEBS header, Mossy Performance Exhaust, Mossy Short Shifter, Crown SS brake lines, Crown SS clutch line, Nismo rear sway, Nismo Lower Tie bar, B&G springs, Motul RBF600, Timing Advance 3*, Denso Iridium plugs, Yokohama AVS Es100s, Alpine/JL system.

it just looks too cluttered.

Hey guys,

I was going to get new rims and tires for the Z but now that I have to pay for the clutch and flywheel and the install, I was wondering what is probably the best tire setup for the stock 17's?

This is just a temporary thing because I will get the rims and tires for sure. If you don't already know, I got into an accident because my stupid stock tires in the rear hydroplaned and I hit an 18 wheeler. Now I need something to drive around for a while until I can afford to get 19x8.5 & 19x9.5's in a few months.

What do you think is best in my situation?
