Damn, this is a bunch of BullCrap! Turns out my clutch is worn out, at 20,000 miles? I don't even race the car or drive that hard. Can I get a super strong clutch so I won't have to replace again for at least another 50K?

BTW...thanks for the reference, Rob. Carlos is a good guy, I just wish he had better news.

Go with the JWT clutch and Jun flywheel. You should be able to get them both from Greg at MOssy for a good price..Good power gains and the chance of you roasting those is slim to none.

Okay, I'll look into it. Was it Greg Vogul (sp?). I think there were two Gregs that worked at Oceanside, I'm not sure.

BTW, no such thing as a stupid question, only stupid people: How does a clutch/flywheel give me good power gains? I thought these things just "grab" gears...?? And how much power gains are we talking about? 5whp?

Yes it is Greg Vogel. As for the clutch no power there but for the flywheel you usually pick up like 5-7 Hp from that...

Hey Rob...does the JWT clutch, JUN flywheel make the car difficult to start? Why do you recommend the JUN flywheel as opposed to the JWT flywheel?

Hey Rob...I talked with Chris P. at Mossy Oceanside and he was actually the one that did the inspection work on my car. He said that the clutch plate was wearing down and that there were no problems with the transmission at all. I did try to start the car with just the clutch and it worked perfectly fine. But he did tell me that the JWT clutch causes growling in the transmission and that it would void the powertrain warranty. Are there any clutches that won't void the powertrain warranty?

It wont void that warranty unless it actually causes the power train to fail. The JWT clutch and pretty much any clutch and flywheel set cause a cement mixer type noise. Ray has one on his G35 its not that bad. Thats interesting so its just the clutch and not the actual trans huh. Well I guess if you want to get a clutch and flywheel you would have to pay labor to have them installed. I dont think Mossy will install them for free as it is a "wearable" item. I would talk to Greg and see if he can cut you a deal on the clutch install.

Apparently when talking to Chris, it was just the clutch disc, suggesting that the disc is all that needs to be replaced and I don't have to replace the flywheel or anything. Still, I'm very tempted by that JUN flywheel....if I am going to be stupid, I should be ALL THE WAY stupid.

Precisely.... I talked to Greg and he can do the clutch flywheel install off the books for $350.
