due to weight and traction, the jeep is actually faster than the srt10 truck. don't get me wrong, the truck is sick, but it is just too big and bulky for me. the jeep is a small 5-seater that is fast as hell and suits all of my purposes. unlike the truck, it will actually handle really well. it's really like a sports sedan that will have a hitch.

mopar comes out with a hitch next month that allows me to keep the center exit exhaust. if i want one sooner, i just take the tips off, and use the standard hitch off of the grand cherokee laredo.

i don't care if it's a hemi, or a semi or a memi...i just like the hp and tq specs. go ahead...lets hear about gas mileage...

Gas mileage concers are for tree huggers...I remember a Chadly once saying "I dont care if its $30/gallon I'm still driving my car". All that being said I hear what you are saying about the Ram being bulky...maybe I'm just awed by the Viper motor stuffed in a truck.. I hate to say this but have you considered a Diesel. I know its a bit odd to say but when you think about the out of box Cummins Diesel and the fact it can handle 50 PSI of boost from a large turbo and make 800 HP and 1600 ft/lb on the stock motor reliably all day long you have to at least think about it. The SRT-8 jeep is certainly nice though.

if someone makes a diesel that is in a nice looking package, has brembo brakes, handles great, and comes stock with 20's, i would certainly consider it. out of the box, though, the jeep is already fast.

Thats true I guess. The only thing that even comes close to comparing is the Ford Lightning and Chevy Trailblazer SS (LS2, Corvette brakes, and 20s too).

Did you see the Trailblazer SS? I hate to say it but I like the looks of the Chevy more then the Jeep. And it does have an LS2

you are killing me rob. you don't have to like the jeep, but don't you think i have done a ton of research? the SS is over a half second slower to 60, doesn't brake or handle as well, and allthough the outside is nicer in your opinion, the jeep has a better interior with leather and suede seats. additionally, the SS only has the front bumper vents and 20's compared to the regular trailblazer. the cherokee has fender flares, a center exit exhaust, etc. there is really something that sets the jeep apart from a regular grand cherokee.

Rob,

Have you seen the SS in person. It looks terrible (looks messican ) ... those photos make it look very good.

I'd take the Jeep anyday of the week. I have already second guessed my Xterra purchase now knowing that this Jeep existed at the time I got my car (and I HATE Jeeps ... almost died in PR in my old Grand Cherokee when the transfer case locked up and sent me off a mountian road and almost over a cliff into the ocean).

Oh well ... I guess I saved 17K this way

Wow ... a little greedy there buddy. You got these things for free .. keeping them in the family at basically retail price (Ti parts non-withstanding here) ... isn't exactly a deal.

I know I sell crap to you guys and lots of other people all the time .. and I make money on it .. I don't however try and grab retail prices on things that I get free man. Hell ... I only made less than $200 gettin' Josh a $10,000 plasma tv.

retail is over 8K (don't forget that this includes the best tires on the market). that price was for a random person, and credit for stocks would depend on whether they were 18's or 19's. i didn't assume that they were for you. if you wanted them, i would give you a hell of a deal...and that goes for all of you SD guys. any of the SD guys can have them for 5K...that is only a grand more than i paid for my iforged setup.
