If you can spare the money ... boost the car. If you are spending all of your promotion (and don't have the $5k saved for when it blows) ... don't do it. I don't want to hear the it won' blow argument ... this is your DD and you need to be able to fix it quick, fast and in a hurry just in case
Does your promotion actually allow you to buy property? .. I mean .. you need about $30k upfront to start anything around here .. plus about oh say $3k/month mortgage.

At best, I can prolly come up with only $20K upfront by early next year...that's with a lotta begging to family members. I dunno, maybe I'll just live it up for a year or two before I end up having to forfeit my b@lls to a wife, and before ya know it, SUV.....

You don't wanna be beggin to the family to help finance your housing investment ....
just enjoy your new $$$
Honestly, first things first. Go to an HPDE and get some driving lessons from some pros. Buy the track insurance and just rip the ever living crap out of your car. Learn your car, learn your limits ... then make it better... send it over to VRT .. JWT it ...get coilovers .. slap on some black 18" Nismos w some 315 rubber and then head back to the track .... again .. learn your car all over again.

yeah ... he'd be yelling .. ah, sh it ... I can't catch him
Factor in Rob's stereo ... Rob vs you (size) and the possibity of ~20-40 more HP at the same PSI ... I'd say you could take him
Then again .. Rob and Chad could surely set you up with a TN kit at least ~3k less than a comparable JWT kit. With that, you can do your suspension upgrades

Only problem is, he'd have to be really really fat for me to be able to close the driver-skill gap...I'd prolly get owned if I tried to race him from a dig, no matter what set up I have.

Got to do my flogging of Chad's Jeep Hemi SRT-mobile this weekend ...
best way to describe it .. hilarious. It makes you laugh when you stomp it b/c it is just so damn unbelieveable. It takes off from a slight powerbrake faster than most any vehicle I really ever driven not track prepped. The problem is, after the intial throwback, it is sooo damn smooth up to 80mph that its speed is decieving. A quick glance back down at the speedo and you can verify your speed .. but that AMG tranny makes the car feel like its in a vaccuum.
Better body control than an FX45 Sport and better brakes than a Track '03 Z .. it's basically a big Z/G (but a lot faster) ... It's a significantly better driver's vehicle than a Hemi Charger that I get to drive regularly (friend here at work) and a hell of a lot faster too.
... would I trade the X for it ... nah .. too much money. BUT, if I was willing to spend 40k again when I got rid of the Z .. that's where my money would go no doubt.

That good, huh? I might be tempted to go domestic next time (I know... ) I've been having thoughts of buying a C6 once the Z is paid off in about 3 years time (which may be my last hurrah to do something stupid and buy a 2 seater sports car before the whole marriage-kids thing)
