Default Mega SoCal Group Buy

During the Stillen meet today, the idea came up that us SoCal Z and G drivers should compile a list of all the mods we want to put on and then shop that list (and the install) for the best price with local (and possibly non-local) vendors. Everyone agreed that if we get a large list put together with a sizable total $, we should be able to get pretty good pricing. Then we'll schedule an install day(s) and then we can all go home with a smile on our faces. What do you think?

There is no limitation on what your mod is, be it wheels or engine or suspension parts or FI or what have you. We may not be able to get all the parts we need from the same source or get everything installed at the same shop, but it doesn't matter. We'll worry about it once we get the list put together. What may happen though is that some parts may be single sourced with fixed pricing, so adding it won't give us any advantage. But for now, we'll leave everything open and see how many people sign up, kay?

OK, so here's how this is going to work. I'll start the list and you guys append your handle and the mods you want to the end of the list and we'll see how this goes. Also indicate if you need install or not. We will have to put some sort of time limits for submitting your mods and for getting the bids back (end of June?) but for now we'll leave it open. Make sense? Ok, here goes:

<frenzee>
1. headers (not sure which brand yet) + install
2. UR pulleys + install

I agree with Frenzee that we can all benefit from a large group
buy. Power in numbers. With the amount of SoCal members with
Z's I am sure we can create some sort of group that has buying power to get discounts. We control where our money goes and what vendor gets it.

It's a good idea.

now if I could just think of something I want that doesnt cost over $5000

Great idea.... I need headers as well. But I think I may go for nismo.... next year or the year after. I'm going to do this slowly over the course of... many years.

Just a suggestion... How about adding Y-Pipes, test pipes and/or hi-flow cats to the list? And... let's not forget the big brake kits.

Man... So many parts, so little $$.

This is a great idea. Just need to sort things out on what I need vs. want.

I guess everything on my wish list is a "want" rather than "need".

Maybe I can host a group buy of something at work. I just need to complete my Stillen training and I can begin to sell stuff. My z is bone stock so I want to start with a intake and exhaust.

This is coming together very nicely. Thanks guys! One thing tho - please indicate whether you need (+ install) or don't need (- install) installation. We may need to shop the installation from somewhere other than the parts. thx.

Get your lists together. Thats a great idea. Theres strength in numbers. It's no secret where I shop and support, but remember , Lets not be penny wise and dollor foolish. Give Jeff a shot at ALL the parts and work, if not for Two very good reasons

1- Performance Nissan has litterly" feed" us on numerious occasions.

2- Where else are you going to go to get" Nissian warrantee issues taken care if."

Uniting for a big buy might give Jeff some leverage with some vendors, but I doubt we can impact it much.

I can't think of a guy on this board that Jeff has not bailed his A$$ out a jam more then once. If Jeff when to work for Honda , I'd be driving a Honda today.
