Racetrack Weekend - Big Willow Aug. 7 & 8
Anyone interested in driving the big road course at Willow Springs Raceway near Lancaster on Sat. Aug. 7 and/or Sun. Aug. 8? Price is $120 for one day, or $220 for both days. There will be racing for advance drivers, for an extra $40. Instruction for beginners is required and is $30.
In the interest of full disclosure, it will probably be very hot in the high desert in early August. If you have a heavily modded or turbo car, please consider the possiblity of overheating. That is why I have chosen not to designate this a 350Z Challenge Series Event.
That being said, if your car is near stock you should have no problem. My Z is heavily modded, I have found that, on a very hot day, if I drive the track in a higher gear to keep the revs down, and go into the hot pit every few laps to cool down, I can run just fine without my engine getting too hot.
This probably isn't the best sales job you have ever heard, but I think it will be a great time.
If you are interested, go to www.speedventures.net to sign up for the Big Willow Aug. 7 & 8 event. I would appreciate a reply here or a PM from anyone who is going to show up. Thanks.

Captin - does the "B" stand for Beefheart? LOL You gotta be an old rock 'n' roll freak like me to understand that one.
Jeff - I will contact you about the koyo radiator and special fluid. Sound like what I need going into the SoCal summer racing season.

BTW how are the instructors with Speed Ventures?
Insructors are very good. I think Big Willow is fine for beginners. Don't worry about the speeds on the long straights. That's the easiest part. Streets of Willow has more tricky turns than the big track, where we will be. Go for it!!! James of Axis showed up in this car last time at Big Willow (haven't heard from him this time.
