Default Tein Flex w/edfc Install @ Street Image

Today I took my car in to Street Image to get the Tein Flex W/EDFC installed!

I had to go to work, but Adam, one of the mechanics was kind enough to snap off a few pictures of the install with my camera!

(Thanks Adam!)

I'd like to thank Jeff, Eric and Adam for doing a super clean install! I was impressed at the wiring that was done.

I would like to mention that this install is pretty labor intensive, involving several interior panels being removed to run wiring to the motors controlling the dampening in each shock.

Here are the panels being pulled up. Don't mind the junk in the back...

Close up of motor/servo (which is it technically?) that controls the dampening.

You can see hear the top motor/servo control for the front shock.

When Adam popped the hood, I honestly didn't notice it at first. The wiring was tucked in the clips that the other hoses and wiring are using so no messy wires running around under the hood.

Now if I could only make my computer wiring look like that...

Whalla! Here is where I decided to mount the EDFC controll unit.

I picked this spot for a few reasons.

The first, I have short legs. So my knee never comes more than 4" to my dash.

I played with it on the way home. It works good.

I'm really happy with the Tein Flex. I drove 48 miles home on them and I could really feel the difference in the different levels.

When I have them all the way hard, I can feel EVERYTHING on the road. I don't recomend this unless you want to have a wet noodle for a spine...

However with the dampening all the way soft, It would feel like I was in my moms murano when I hit drop offs in the road. It would slowly bob up and down. Kinda nice.

Definately a plus for those 50 minute drives to work in the morning up the crappy 3-lane 5 Freeway.

Oh yeah, the "bounce" is totally gone. Completely.

No more pulling up to people on the 5 on the way to work at 15 mph and have them look at me like I'm dancing due to the bounce! =P

Anyways, its late and I am dead tired.

Nice. I was gonna mount my EDFC controll unit at the same spot, but the steering wheel will block the view. Wouldnt yours?

The horrizontal part that connects to the outer ring doess. But. I don't need to look it constantly. All I need to do is hit the preset configuration buttons and it jumps to my preset specifications.

And at night, the thing has a blue light and the steering wheel blocks the light =P

I just recently installed the TEIN - Flex350Z Race Style Flex Colorer Kit w/ EDFC - Want to mount it in center console just below the three air controls.

Janus, did you install the race version of the flex system? I agree it's an awesome system.

Now I'm looking for a sway bar that will fit the touring model 6 sp mt. Having problems finding one. Can anyone help?

It's a little stiffer setup than the regular tein flex system. The problem with finding a sway bar for the touring model is that the location of the VDC is right where the sway bar must attach. Even NISMO only has a sway for vechicles w/o the VDC from what I've been told. Please correct me if I'm getting bad info.

Insane350z.

I did not know there was a Race Style Coilover. Do you mean different springs?

But if you are interested in Sway bars there are Hotchkis, Cusco, Eibach, Nismo and 350Evo bars.

We are getting a couple of set of Hotchkis ones in this week or next.

Let me know if you are interested.
