Like Aaron said and theres more than just that too that you have to do. and some special tools that you will need as well.. Just to give you a quick rundown on what needs to be done first before the timing cover comes off, drain coolant, removing the cooling fan, the belts of coarse, the power steering pump needs to come off just to move it out of the way a little, the alternator, a couple hoses, the crank pulley, and the lower oil pan...and i think thats it...... God dammit dave you're making me think to hard here in the early mornin So Dave if you're more worried about a messy uninstall of the timing cover than you might have bitten off more than you can chew.. lol

If you are talking about the small caps, doing that is not going to swap out your cams if you plan on changing them, you have to remove the whole front timing chain cover

BTW HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYBODY!!

Dammit. Sorry that you had to think about that.

I guess I'm just looking for easy, quick, and inexpensive mods to do over the winter.

It's that or I keep buying guns and cleaning them every night.

The troof? They look dirty and could use some polishing. But I've decided the guy wants too much.

you could get your valve covers powder coated if you're looking to go that route, I'm kind of thinking of doing it, Or some more winter projects for ya

1.) fix the two rock chips in the front windshield

2.) use some touch up paint if you have any rock chips in the front bumper

3.) start cutting out a stensile for a magnet numbers for when you go to the autoX next year (instead of using blue tape/electrical tape)

4.) replace the carpet or was that someone else who had a couple stains in the carpet that needed to be replace??????

5.) clean/reoil the pop charger filter

6.) check/ maybe replace the spark plugs

that's all i can think of for now as far as winter projects go, my mind is still on how full I am from thanksgiving

First I need to figure out how easy it will be to take those off. I don't need a messy garage floor at this time of the year.

Looks like all you have to do is take out the bolts and gently pry them off.

Winter plans for the 05:
Pulling the Suspension
Pulling the Engine Bay Things

I love how happy I am with my car ;-) My plans for winter are repainting my calipers since I roasted the paint off of them on the track and some new rear tires and maybe an exhaust depending on how much money I can make at work and trying to finish up school. Deff a good idea to reoil the pop charger, I bought the K&N kit the other day but now i have to figure out how to get my true CAI filter off without removing the bumper!
