So before the summer slips away, let's get together and have a party! We will host a GTG at my house. We'll go for a drive first, then head back to my house for some dinner and an after party.

I will figure out a route and post it ASAP, but in the meantime put this on your calendar and think of what you'd like to bring over to contribute.

We will provide some food and drinks, but I won't know how many of you are coming until the day of the GTG. So if you want to come over and bring food and drinks, that's great. If you're single and have no clue what to bring, then I accept donations. :P

Based on popular demand, I'll be grilling some good food like chicken satay.

I'll make hamburgers and brats, but I'm sure there will be other side dishes. Just make sure you all bring your favorite drinks or whatever else you'd like to contribute or cook for yourselves on the grill.

I'll be making some mixed drinks and some shots. If anyone has a special treat they'd like to share, byob and let's start a contest!

 

So I'm thinking we meet at about 1PM and drive a couple of hours. I've got a route mapped out, and it's saying 2+ hours and about 80 miles. Here's the thing: I've got several stops along the way for people to catch up, chill out, take pics, etc. This will probably turn out into a 3 hour cruise before coming over to my house to start grilling and stuff.

I figure if we meet at 1PM, this will give people time to sleep in, get some rest, go get supplies for the after party, and/or do their detailing in the morning. If you all think it should start later, then post up. Also, I was thinking that there's still time after the cruise for some of you who didn't bring stuff along for the party to make a quick run to the stores to get what you want. There are plenty of choices in my area.

Finally, please be responsible. I know you are all adults and want to get home safely. Let's have some fun on the roads and at the party AND do it all safely and responsibly.

 

BTW CnC is also this day so I'll be swinging over after CnC

I'll be skipping CnC and helping set up the house. I don't want to abandon Tara and make her do everything.

So to update the event:

For the cruising part, meet in the lot of Theresa's by 1PM (Mendota Heights).

For the after party including food and drinks, meet at my house by 5PM (PM for address or look at the destination on the map).

If people who are coming to the party can bring soda pop, beer, wine, whatever you like to drink or share, that's fine. For food, I suggest finger foods unless you want to cook something on the grill.

Let me know what you plan on bringing and who's coming. Perhaps just copy and paste the list of attendants and put whatever you're bringing next to the name.
