Default Houston Z's

Are there any meets aside from Z club of Houston meets. Something informal. Maybe an eat and meet? I see lots of Z's around town. Last night came across a yellow Z who seemed to be an enthusiast. Would any of yall be interested if I set one up?

What you got against the ZCOH? Something less formal?
Do you have issues with commitment?

We do so much more than just "meet and eat".
I used to try to post our activities here, but all I ever got was a bunch of "yea, count me in !", and then a bunch of no-shows.
Posers.

I've got nothing against ZCOH. If you read above, I was thinking of joining. What's w/ the personal attack? "Issues w/ commitment?"

When I say informal, I'm talking about not having a set monthly meet. Just a "Hey, lets get together on so and so day", and eat, BS, admire each others cars. I know ZCOH does so much more than "meet and eat", and that's great. However, I was asking if there was just a meet, and not a club meet.

There are some people who don't wanna join a club just to hang out w/ people who have the same interests and tastes in cars. Is there anything wrong w/ that?

Hey, you know I gave the club a shot!

So, when's this going down? If you give plenty of notice, maybe we can get some Zs from Dallas, Austin and San Antonio out as well. Another forum tried to set one of these up before, but flooding ruined the date and it was never rescheduled. Just a thought.

Alright sounds like there is enough interest. For you guys doing shiet this weekend, don't worry I wasn't thinking this sat. Really I was looking for a a group that already met once in a while. Since it looks like there isn't something informal, guess I do some planning. Is a weeks notice enough time? How does Sat. May 30. Around 8-8:30. I get off work at 7. I'll contact Jaimito about holding it at Mambo Seafood. I may even check it out tomorrow. Is there a large enough parking lot? If Mambo doesn't pan out, I'll check out Cheddars on 8 and Westpark. They have a huge parking lot. It's something neutral, Westheimer is close by so we can cruise afterwards. Would yall also be down to chill maybe at Sherlocks or another bar maybe in rice village?

In terms of SA/Austin/Dallas Z's I'm pretty sure ZOS(350zos.com) is having a meet on the 30th in Temple.

If 30th is cool then I'm gonna make an official post here and the other Z forums. See if we can drum up some other Z's that don't usually make it out to the meets.

sorry...didn't mean it to come across as a personal attack.
You can ask TruBluZ....I usually kid around a lot. Didn't mean to offend.

TruBlu...you are still a traitor, but you're still my buddy...
Hope to see you soon !

I understand that the "club scene" isn't for everyone...it just gets irritating when I bust my butt putting together an event and have a handful of cars show up, but someone posts that they're going to Hooter's tonight and 30 cars show up !

I'm working on a track event at Texas World Speedway now. That takes a lot of time/phone calls/arranging....but there seems to be very little interest from the Z forum. Luckily, there are enough people who are ready to "take it to the track", to make it worth my while.

I'm also working on a cruise on April 30th up in the Atascosita Area. Think there would be some interest in that?
I'm not familiar with that part of town....our club prez is putting this one together.

We should meet in the shade of the parks up in the Woodlands so we can Zaino each others cars in peace!

Then eat at Bennihanahs!

Dave I know what you mean. No offense taken.

As for the track, I would love to go, but still working out the suspension for my car. I plan on getting licensed through either SCCA or TWS. As for a cruise up to Atascosita I'd love to go, but work weekends till at least 7pm. This is the main reason why I wanted to do something "informal". Not to much organizing in terms of venue, just a place w/ a large enough parking lot and good food. If People show, great! If not, then not too much time and energy was spent.

As for the Woodlands idea, that all well and good, but for this time I was thinking of doing it around 8. Not much time to Zaino that late at night.

Houston Brothers... the www.350zos.com is just what you need, a forum THAT'S FREE! a place to post local events, meets, shows or whatever. We are in the begining phase of this group and it's our plans to have big meets in different areas in Texas every month. As MethodRN mentioned Were meeting in Arlington April 30th @ 2:00 pm and meeting in Temple May 21 from 12:00 - 5:00 In August the ZOS is sponsoring a HUGE carshow. Check out the events section on the Home page. Check it out! Post some meets in Houston and I know lots of DFW Z's will come down and hang with ya. We would love to meet ya.

As my fellow ZOS member has pointed out, many meets in the works. Good camaraderie (sp?) between those up in Dallas/FW and surrounding areas. I would love to attend all of them, but I work weekends and driving up is whole day thing. Fun as these meets are it is still a long a$$ drive. So thought I might try to get some Z's together here.

So Randall, looks like there is still no June meet planned? Let me see if this "get together is a minor success, if it is and enough interest is shown then I will set up a June meet.
