Hey guys,

I'm trying to get a Z meet together here in Austin. Honestly, I don't have concrete plans yet but would like to know who would be interested. I'm thinking a Saturday in late May, starting with lunch and then a drive down 2222 and other suggested places, followed by a picture time.

At this point, I would love to get input on what else you would suggest and who would be interested. Thanks.

i might be down..depends on the weekend. i am in Htown and will not move back to ATX til school starts up so i will have to make plans to stay with a friend

If engiNERD doesn't get something going for that weekend, I'll put together a drive.

It's been a VERY long time since that AUS/HOU meet i put together in Rice Village. I can't believe it's been near on 3years since I first got my Z, and over a year since Nissan bought it back.

The Elise folk don't have anything up on their forums for a drive or anything that weekend. So, if we decide soon we might be able to make it a nice Hill Country Drive. Hopefully avoiding the Park Rangers this time.

Articfury - I will PM you in regards to this. Since this is my first meet, I'd like to either work with you or have you take over so that everyone has an enjoyable meet. I can also learn a few tips on what is needed(activities, etc.).

Tacomaboy - Is it me or does Z-Club Austin seem like more Z31's and prior?

 

I went to see them this weekend, and yes its more Z31s and older, but there were two Z33s there NOT counting my own.

We could take over muahahaha. I wanted to run with them but they were planning an all day drive, and I just didnt have the time

Rodel and crew are a great bunch of folks. There have been quite a few Z32s out there before, but it has been a while since I attended an official event. I wanted to go to the meeting Monday, but work got in the way.

If Apexi is still coming to town the weekend of the 28th, i think that would be the best weekend. It would give more time to plan routes and get the word out.

Articfury and I spoke and he is arranging this event now. Hopefully I can be the organizer next time. =)

 

Sorry, I've been sick lately.

Do we want this to just be a Z event (and one Evo, me )? Or do we want to invite other car groups, i.e. S2k, Elise, MR2?

I have been part of both types of events. I enjoy both. The Elise/S2K groups have been doing quite a few drives recently.

Let me know which you all want and I'll put it together.

In all honesty(and to contradict my previous PM to you), I would love to have just 350Z's, plus your Evo =). But if not, it's all good.

 

If everyone prefers just a 350Z meet, I can manage that too. I will say I love having the larger gathering with different groups, but I will do whatever the majority want.

To be clear, are you saying no other Z's also?

I was going to send something to Rodel and have him send it out to the Z Club.

For me, I'd love to have just 350Z's this first time around even though I used to have a Z32. Guess it's my "350Z" pride that is overriding my "Z" pride . Once plans are finalized, I have 3 other Z's at work(whom I don't know) and will print out the meet information and my email and leave it on their windshield so they hopefully may come. Also +1 guy at my apartment complex possibly.

 

Well, it would be nice to have a larger meeting, but...

a picture with a bunch of *strictly* 350Zs is really something nice.

Its all good, you said them first, you can have them haha. What I meant was it would be nice to get a good amount of people together, possibly ten 350's? But it feels as though we'd be limited to the amount of people if we were to exclude all other car. But it would be sweet to just have 350's driving together. I'm at a lost for words. Probably just too excited for this meet to come around. =) Also, I've heard 1325 is nice to drive around.

 

I agree it is always nice to have a nice group of a make driving around, especially one you are passionate about.

Unfortunately, as of late, the Austin 350Z's have been lackluster in their desire to get together. Hopefully, this will be the beginning of a change in that.

What I mentioned to Apexi350z as a possible scenario is this:

Meet around 9-10
Drive out through the Hill Country (exact route to be determined)
Hit Cooper's for some BarBQ action
Then after some good food and convo, do a little more driving and head back to Austin

The best day for this seems to be Sunday May 29th.

How does that all sound?

Oh and engiNERD, did you mean 1431? 1325, aka MoPac/Burnet, aka SH45, aka Louis Henna Blvd, is pretty boring a drive.

 

Yes, sorry about the confusion. 1431, haven't been but heard its nice except for possible cops. Is there a reason the 28th would not be possible?
