OH MAN...
I am sooo glad you didn't go to Ft. Worth. You would have been pizzed at me for weeks and would have cursed every time you heard the name Z Club of Houston
Hey Method...Friday the 13th...kind of adds an element of excitement to an already exciting event, don't it?
Luckily, I'm not superstitious...I create my own bad luck

i would like to go, but have a question regarding helmets since i need to buy one. Does it need to be a snell approved helmet? I went by k's motorsports a little while ago and the cheapest one they had was $135.
For this one event, the tech of the car and your equipment (i.e.-your helmet) will be VERY casual....but...if you're going to ever again participate in any type of speed event, a cheep-o helmet will never pass tech inspection.
See if you can borrow one from a friend for this one event if you can't afford a good one.
Remember...it's your ol' pumpkin that you you're wanting to protect...don't cut corners on this one important piece of equipment.
Expect to pay around $250 minimum...average is around $350...if you are professional (and who of us isn't
) and have a sponsor, the cost can quickly go over $1,000
(carbon fiber ain't cheap).
For just about any other event you will need a snell SA (not an M, which is somewhat cheaper, but for motorcycles). A helmet has a life-expectancy of 10yrs. due to foam deterioration, etc. They are rated every 5 years at the manufacturer, so if you buy a SA05, it is good for 10yrs. Right now, all the internet and mailorder places are selling their SA00's at a pretty deep discount, but then it's only good for 5yrs.
Hope I haven't confused you.

BOY OH BOY was that a blast!
let me just say that turn 1 and turns 8 and 10 are a killer!
luckly david was willing to spend the time and whip me into to shape and help me take out a couple corvettes at the track today!
I had a blast and i def did not expect my Z to handle like it did at the track today... but, once david showed me how to attack the track, i was a blast listing to the tires scream as i took the turns. I dont believe i ever turned on my radio the entire time i was at the track.
Engine noise and tire noise was enough to keep my blood pumping! I would just like to let you guys know that didnt make it, it is def. worth making it out to an event such as this. Because it really gives you a feel for what you, and your car can do!
As we all know the 350z is a great track car, and it really shines when you learn how to drive the car correctly. I must say that even the little mazda 3 that was out their today!
I know that david (zcardave) said that a drivers edge event was coming up in a couple mounts. I really think this would be a prefect time for people that want to try tracking the Z. Because you get a trainer in your car telling how to attack each coner and give you pointers on how you are doing throughout the day. Plus, The drivers edge event is usally a 2 day event. So you get a bit more time on the track and is the perfect way to spend a couple days off.
