Don't know these people or where they live and I have never heard of Opies BBQ (Thought the place in Llano won best BBQ) nor do I know how far away it is.

That being said...... If someone can give me an idea of how long the drive is or how long they usually stay out and if anyone else is planing on going and wants to meet somewhere then I would have no problem going.

Opie's is a ripoff of Cooper's (the place in Llano), started by a former employee. Most of the S2000 group thinks its food is even better. It's in Spicewood, off Hwy 71.

There's no "usually" w/ our group. The drive could be as short as 80ish miles, or longer if everyone has time and is in the mood to play...no shortage of great roads in the area. We've done as many as 525 miles in a day!

I'm def. interested in going, but I'll be motocrossing if the ground isn't too muddy from the expected rain later this week. If the weather really sucks for the whole weekend, I may go to Houston to visit my family (I'm getting the guilt trip about not visiting very often).

 

The drive to Opie's sounds fun.

If we kept it short it would be a good warm up for the next weekend. Still not sure if I can make it the next week

Did you just get your car? I just noticed your car showing up, along with the CS and Brickyard or Black that park in that area. Do you know the other owners? If so, you should point'em to the site. And you should definitely come out to one of the events. Either this weekend or next.

S2K Atlanta set up a dedicated form for us. W/o writing a dissertation or airing a bunch of dirty laundry, S2Ki is going way downhill due to outages, censorship, personality clashes, etc.

Atlanta was gracious enough to give us a reliable forum w/o the politics/BS of S2Ki.

I'm def. in for next weekend's drive! You should be, too...what's the attraction w/ all these Dallas and Houston road trips? Austin is lots more fun, and you're already here!

Just got the car about 2 weeks ago. I don't know whos the others are, but if I see them I will let them know about the site and the meets. I will not be able to make it to the Friday or next week(Out of town in Houston), but I will make one in the near future.

Blah blah blah blah freaking blah. I'm from Houston and I'm not going home....till the 22nd..Rodeo Cookoff and the following weekend Robert Earl Keen. Wussies. OK then Who is up for meeting this Sunday...and JD as I stated I'm going to do something Friday Z equipped or not.

 

To clarify, I am not going to Houston the weekend of the 15th. I have to go to work at 11pm Saturday, and may be there until 2am Monday morning. So, I have to plan around that and get some sleep prior to work. I have not ruled out going on the drive.

You can skip the dinner at the Oasis after the drive and take a few hours naps before work.

I am definitely coming for 2/15. As for this weekend, I will check with Sondra first to make sure that she will not be caught off guard by a few 350zer.

So far 3 of you show interest for Sunday BBQ at Opie's with the S2K folks. I asked Sondra if a few of us can join them, she is OK with that. The meeting place is 11:00 am in "Arboretum area". I PM'ed her for direction, but the S2K Atlanta site is down since last night, so I haven't heard back from her yet. Stay tune. As soon as I get the direction, I'll PM you. In the mean time, just wish the weather turninn better.
