Default Austin Casual Meet

Would any 350Z owners be interested in getting an impromptu meet together this Friday (2/7/03). We could meet up after work and get something to eat, etc. I was thinking someplace with a large parking lot like Coolriver but I'm open for any suggestions.

I think I might be up for something, but not sure yet.

I have to work like a 16 hour stretch Sat/Sun, so I may not be able to stay long. /end whining

But it would be fun to meet up again. It's been a while since I have seen the Austin gang.

Hey JD,
Sorry I didn't give you a call that Sunday in Houston but my phone was in the possession of a stranger and I was doing everything I could to get it back....log story. Anyway it would be great to do something maybe early in the evening say 6ish. Depending on the kind of response we get and where people are maybe somepleace up North will work better.

HA! Listen I more than happy to meet up with you guys should you decide to come in next Friday. I just wanted some of the local people to get together so that we could talk bad about all you out-of-towners before you get here.

That way you will be easily identifiable to people who haven't met you yet!!!

Howard if there was anyway to get you to town earlier you know I would love to have you. After all I need you here to help with my grounding kit remember?!

Great idea Mark, I'm usually in Happy hour mode by friday, anyway. I'm in. What time? I think the happy hour prices stop around 7:00. You can valet park it in the front and show off those GT-C's

Chazzg - No problem getting together early next week. Shoot me a PM and I will get you my contact info.

Anthony - I was just going to email you directly and see what you thought about it. And I don't like to show off...a lot.

So if that sounds like a plan lets shoot for it this Friday.

I'm a bit worried about i being a Daytona Blue only deal though!

I will email the old regulars and see if they are in.

There are three Z's in the RR8 parking lot that I should go put a business card on and invite them too

Should we invite the S2000 guys for old times sake?

Chris, Jeff, Sondra and the gang are good folks to hang out with.

So, is this the plan:

Friday, Feb 7th
5pm ish
Cool River

JD

PS

Mark, no prob, I understand. I was tempted to stay and go to the Houston Auto Show anyway. But just drove in around 3. I would have gone to the show, if I had known there was an Enzo there.

I might be able to drive up from New Braunfels, depending on work of course.

Where exactly is Cool River in relation to 35 if traveling from the South? (I'm pretty familiar with the main areas of Austin, I go to Stubb's a lot )

if its the one that im thinking about (i dont know if its a chain) its north of austin about 5 to 10 miles. on parmer ln. easiest to get on Hwy 1 and that takes you straight to parmer. take a left and go about 1 or 2 miles. its on the left.......

Just looked at the weather forecast for Fri... Yikes. Texas weather changes so fast it might not be an issue, but this is concerning me.

Yes Cool River is up North on parmer west of Mopac (Loop1). As I said it was just a suggestion. If we have some people coming from the south side and don't want to go all the way up north maybe we can meet in the middle. I had only wanted a place with ample parking.

And Anthony I was worried about the weather. May have to play it by ear on Friday. I don't want to get snowed in

Mark/Anthony,

Look like Saturday is a better day (partly cloudy, high 43) and Sunday is even better (partly clouday, high 60). See => http://www.weather.com/outlook/health/local/78717

May be we should have a late lunch instead on either Sat or Sun and then go out for a short drive. Sound like more fun than freezing weather with rain and snow shower.

If y’alll decide to go Sunday, there’s a group of S2000 owners planning a BBQ to Opie’s….y’all are welcome to join us/them (not yet sure if I’ll make it). The route should include some great roads, and Opie’s BBQ is among the best in TX!

I'm up for any of the days. If the weekend sounds better then name the place. I have a problem with saturday morning. I have defensive driving till 3:00. Ugggghhhh. I still my hit CoolRiver friday but minus my Z. In cognito in the Jeep. At least that way I can drive through the snow drifts
