Default Just ordered a PPW Enthusiast...

even though I have yet to test drive the car. The dealer I ordered it from says they don't allow test driving of the Z. Am I out of my mind for buying a car without driving it? Also does anyone local to Houston have a PPW? I have only seen one but it was enough for me to make my order. I would like to meet up with someone that has a ppw so I can feel better about my choice

Your dealer might be an idiot. You can definitely drive one and there is no reason for the dealer to not let you do it, if you are serious about ordering. At least try out an AT model and try the stick too, if that's what you ordering. If he won't let you drive it, find another dealer. The ride, handling and performance are much different than a normal sedan. I test droved the Infiniti G35 w/AT and Accura RSX Type S w/MT and a 350Z w/AT, but bought an MT without test driving. Love it. No problems in 600 miles.

You'll love the PPW, if clean, the pearl coat is incedible in the sun. Sorry NJ and TX aren't closer.

where did you but it from?

ppw is a great color choice! i have a daytona blue z, and if i had the chance to do it over again, i would get white!

don't worry about the test drive ... the first time most of us drove our cars was when we drove it off the lot. but you should be able to get a test drive np now.

I bought my Daytona Blue Track model from Dean Lundstrom at Gillman Nissan in Rosenberg, Texas (about 35 miles southwest of Houston).

Dean let me put about 25 miles on the car during a test drive.

I guess it depends on the dealership. Baker-Jackson South in Houston would not allow me to test drive the car. Courtesy Nissan in Dallas would have let me if one was available.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the input guys. I will hound the dealer more and see if I can't get them to let me drive it. I will be sure to post pics of it coming off the truck when it gets here ;-)

I had always said I would never buy a car that I didnt drive... But when I took a look at the Z I bought, I gave in. I did drive the G35C which I figured was pretty close... I doubt you will regret anything.... Doesnt justify the dealer not letting you drive it though.
As far as PPW... It gets alot of flack here on this site, but the people who like it... really like it. I would take PPW over either shade of silver or the black any day.
