ditto HPP is the shiznit... They mainly work on domestic stuff, but they have already turned out a few turbo and supercharged Z's.

 

if they were smart, they would perfect their work on the VQ like forged has. Texas ranks 2nd only to Cali when it comes to the amount of Z's on the road. I know the DFW area Z drivers are thirsting for a good shop like Forged, hell I know I am. I'm on the right on the line wether or not I want to go F/I but if Forged was in the DFW area, I would have already taken the plunge.

 

Heres what the Texas state law says in regards to equipment.

§ 547.604. MUFFLER REQUIRED. (a) A motor vehicle shall
be equipped with a muffler in good working condition that
continually operates to prevent excessive or unusual noise.
(b) A person may not use a muffler cutout, bypass, or
similar device on a motor vehicle.

Acts 1995, 74th Leg., ch. 165, § 1, eff. Sept. 1, 1995.


§ 547.605. EMISSION SYSTEMS REQUIRED. (a) The engine and
power mechanism of a motor vehicle shall be equipped and adjusted to
prevent the escape of excessive smoke or fumes.
(b) A motor vehicle or motor vehicle engine, of a model year
after 1967, shall be equipped to prevent the discharge of crankcase
emissions into the ambient atmosphere.
(c) The owner or operator of a motor vehicle or motor
vehicle engine, of a model year after 1967, that is equipped with an
exhaust emission system:
(1) shall maintain the system in good working
condition;
(2) shall use the system when the motor vehicle or
motor vehicle engine is operated; and
(3) may not remove the system or a part of the system
or intentionally make the system inoperable in this state, unless
the owner or operator removes the system or part to install another
system or part intended to be equally effective in reducing
atmospheric emissions.
(d) Except when travel conditions require the downshifting
or use of lower gears to maintain reasonable momentum, a person
commits an offense if the person operates, or as an owner knowingly
permits another person to operate, a vehicle that emits:
(1) visible smoke for 10 seconds or longer; or
(2) visible smoke that remains suspended in the air
for 10 seconds or longer before fully dissipating.
(e) An offense under this section is a misdemeanor
punishable by a fine of not less than $1 and not more than $350 for
each violation. If a person has previously been convicted of an
offense under this section, an offense under this section is a
misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not less than $200 and not more
than $1,000 for each violation.

I really hate to get this thread off-topic, but I see all of these screen names of guys in the DFW area in this thread, but I might have only meet one or two of you at a meet before.

Do any of you guys go to 350z meets or are interested in them? We have them pretty often (at least once a month). It would just be great to get more people/350Z's out to the meets and away from the computers.

There is a Meet-Ups / Events (Texas) sub-forum at the top of the Texas forum.

 

I went ZOS meet and cruise awhile back, but I usually work on weekends so its hard for me to go to meets. Even for that one it was based around having a car show, which bores me to death, I would like to setup a meet for a track day at MSR or something.

 

The car show meets are not what myself and a few others are into, but unfortunately the car show meets are what always turn out the biggest crowds.

Sorry to throw this thread off-topic......I just saw a lot of local guys on here that I wish would come to the meets.

 

i'm all for some meets that include a 2-3 hr drive out into the country or somewhere.

 

I also work on weekends, well should get together like on a Tuesday or Wednesday night to get dinner somewhere.

also, most of you probably know, but the dallas Z club meets on the 3rd thursday every month in Frisco. although, i definitely could handle another Z meeting every few weeks

 

Does anyone go to the Monday nite meet from 8:30pm to 11:30 pm in Frisco off of 121 and preston?? Hit me up so we can meet there. As for the Turbonetics install, Jotech just finished another one last week with the HKS V-pro engine management at 12.5 psi pushing 441whp, 448 ft lb tq.

 

Myself, Trentor & Z_Freak were just talking about those meets last Thursday. I think we're gonna start going to these again.

Although "this" Monday (Nov. 6th) I don't think we'll be going.
