ok this particular release is a combo meaning if you buy the hd-dvd version (red case) it has a dvd side and an hd-dvd side. normal hd-dvds will not work on a non hd dvd player. the add on for the 360 wil be a great value but not for me, I need the excellent analog outs of the hd-a1 for the lossless audio tracks (hdmi won't do lossless audio in 5.1). this movie on hd-dvd looks and sounds exactly like it did in theatres. even the lfe is perfect (bass).
your a home theater queen. im content with my kenwood 5.1 and 30" hdtv. well until i get the 42" WOOPI! cant wait for christmas time. I still gotta bettr computer and car. LOL. yes I know im making worthless conversation but I really want to see the movie in HD. The pucture in the theaters suck due to the huge a$$ screen and the audio is turned way to low.

well if you have an xbox360 there will be an add on to allow hd-dvd playback for around 179 coming out this november. if not that I would recommend the hd-a1 as long as you are tech savy enough to do a firmware update.
I know it will support toslink (fiber optic lol) but I don't know about hdmi or not as well as if analog 5.1 is supported that's why if you have a serious ht setup I recommend the hd-a1.
