Window tinting in Austin?
I just wanted to see where people had gotten their cars tinted at. I know that the quality of the install and quality of the film varies wildly. I saw in an older thread a few people reccomended Sun Tint on Burnet. Anyone else confirm this, or like another place? Tint is so cheap I'd rather pay a little more for the highest quality film/job if need be. I'm probably going to go with 15% on the rear and sides. I'm curious with the auto-dimming mirror if the rear window tint makes it real hard to see cars behind you at night?
Thanks ahead of time for reccomendations.

Custom Sounds on Burnet first did my S2000, then my Tundra and my g/f’s Jaguar. They use some of the best materials (Formula One, IIRC) and do a great job. I’ve also been very happy w/ work they’ve done on several sound systems and alarms. Ask for Sam, he’ll get you taken care of.
So any other places that are good. I plan on going this Friday to get the windows tinted and wanted to make sure I found a place that understands the special needs of the Z(Auto Windows, Rear brake light cover).
Is the Custom Sounds on Burnet the one that moved to 35 & 51st?

I also had mine done at Sun Tint. Christi and crew are super nice and did a great job.
Custom Sounds does good work as well. There are multiple Custom Sounds locations in the city. I would stick with the original shop on Burnet.
Basically, both shops use top notch materials if you don't go with a cheap film. I would call both and get prices for their top of the line films.

I had mine done on Friday also. I used the Charcoal HP, because I didn't want much reflectivity. He said it would be best on a black car, and I am happy with the results. I got 35% on the sides, and 20% on the back, looks awesome. They had to redo it a few times, because of the dumb auto-down feature was mucking it up. I also went back and had them redo the passenger window because it had a scratch. They were apologetic that I had to come back, instead of giving me a hard time. Good place to do business with.
