Yeah, maybe I will see you up there...To bad your not buying it from me Mickey...

And guys...I'm sorry that I can't magically make the dealership sell you cars for a huge discounted price...Selling cars is a business...If they knock off thousands of dollars then that doesn't benefit the business...So if they did that for every person then the only business they would be doing is with a bankruptcy lawyer...So I'm sorry that ya'll will have to find a Z like everyone else and have to pay a normal price like we all did...And as far as the KBB goes, most dealerships don't give you that to the T...I understand that it asks you questions about your car and you think that since KBB spits out that number that you should automatically get that...Well if you want to get close to your KBB number then just sell it on your own. You won't get as much if you traded it in. Once again, I had to go throught all of this when I was trying to sell my 2004 STI...Nissan didn't want to give me as much as I was asking, especially since I modded everything except the tranny...So I went out and did a little leg work. I posted pics of my STI at performance shops and put it on autotrader. Within two weeks I had a check in hand for what I was wanting. The person bought it and I used the money as my downpayment....

So I'm sorry I can't help ya on this fellas...And I'm sorry that ya'll have that opinion about dealerships...Good luck on finding a Z at the price that ya'll are wanting...But if your serious about getting into a Z and expecting to pay what is on the sticker, maybe a little less, then we can work something out...The main thing is that we can reach a monthly payment that you desire and stuff like that...Then your credit plays a huge role in the car buying process, so I can't even really know anything until your credit and everything like that is available...

Well of course I expect to make money...That is my job so why wouldn't I? But I'm not going to screw anyone over...I'm a honest person and want to make my customers happy, IF there requests are reasonable...I have been screwed over by a dealership before but I don't think every dealership is out there to screw someone over...

But like I said, it is a business...So I would like to drop this conversation...I posted this thread for people that are interested in a new/used car...I didn't post this to hear peoples opinions about dealerships...

Roy,

You will quickly learn that the dealership gets money from the manufacturer for every sale regardless of the sale price even if it is at invoice.

They also have a holdback on every invoice which is more money to the dealership.

If you can do volume sales for $500.00 over invoice to your friends the dealership and you will still make out on the deal.

I have a friend that would sell over 30 cars a month and sure he would rape a customer from time to time, but overall he would sell for volume.

He was very well off financially and had all the toys. He was also very
well known and well respected receiving numerous awards for top sales.

He always used to tell me that volume selling is the way to do well in the
car sales business and obviously he wasn't lying due to his success.

Just a little advice I wanted to pass on to you. Good Luck! and remember
it takes time to build up clientele and word of mouth will be your bread and
butter.

Well I think he means about used Z's...Because those prices aren't even the starting price on a new Z...

And Mike, I know that I'm sure that I could maybe get some kind of hookup on the price for my fellow Z owners, but I just started and really can't just make magic happen. Tomorrow I will find out everything that I need to know so I can answer everyones questions...But if they are asking for invoice and I'm not mistaking, isn't that like a $3,000-$5,000 drop in price...Trust me, if I could I would...But at this point in time I just don't see how my manager would let me do a price cut like that....

Typical response from a salesman!

1. Lets work off MSRP!

2. What kind of payments do you want?

People that are smart are pre-approved on a loan before they walk into the dealership!

Okay...Once again...Why do you think your so special and should get a brand new Enthusiast for $23-$24,000 dollars? I mean seriously, what makes you so special? You send me a PM saying that you got your current Z for invoice...I'm glad for you...So why don't you go back to that same dealership and get another great deal? Why are you so willing to drive 5 hours to where I am at if you got a great deal where you are from? That just doesn't make much sense to me??? So quit your crying if I'm not going to sale you a Z at invoice price...Sorry...Maybe after I establish myself there at Don Davis a couple of months then maybe I can start asking my manager for prices like that...If you want to get a pre-approval on a loan before you go to the dealership, that is great...But that doesn't work everytime...I know friends that have gone to a dealership under the impression that they were pre-approved and still wasn't exactly totally approved...So don't give me that about getting pre-approved...And what does that have to do with anything about what we have been talking about? You still have to negotiate a price on the car, so what happens when you are pre-approved for a certain amount and the car is still more then what your expecting?

SO LIKE I SAID, IF YOU WANT TO TALK ON THIS THREAD ABOUT GETTING A NEW NISSAN THEN PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO WRITE ON HERE...IF YOU WANT TO COMPLAIN ABOUT NOT GETTING A BRAND NEW 2007 Z FOR $23,000, THEN JUST DON'T POST ANYTHING...I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY ABOUT DEALERSHIPS OR CAR SALESMAN...JUST DON'T POST ON HERE...

People with T1 or even T0 credit rating don't have this problem with approvals. Look man you posted in a public forum to bring in business for yourself. Expect people to post opinions and viewpoints that are both reasonable and unreasonable. Being in the car business, what zand02max asked may be considered low balling, but it's no difference than what a customer off the street going into your store might ask. Are you going to call them out and treat them like this too? People know the car business is a profit margin business and that you have no power over the final selling price. That is up to your new car sales manager to decide. To me you just pissed off a lot of potential customers with your attitude. What you should have said is "I don't know but come on in and I'll try my best to get you what you want." Jeez I'm not even a car salesman and I know how to give a better response. Good luck man, I hope your first day on the floor will be better than in this thread.

Sorry to say but your response IS typical salesman verbage almost word for word. You guys zero in on monthly payments so that you can hide numbers in the deal.

I am willing to bet that he doesn't last more than 6 months or I'll go into Don Davis in person and ask for him on my next Nissan.

Seriously guys you are trying to start a fight for no reason. The guy has been very respectable so far why are you guys being an ***. In any business situation its about everyone coming to a mutual agreement that generally benefits both in some way. Unless you go to a nobody dealer who never sells a 350z, you are not going to get invoice on it.
Case and point, buddies dad who wanted a C5 vette. Walked into a dealership who has never sold one, told them he wanted to pay so much for it and bam had a vette being ordered for him.

Im just saying no reason to butcher the guy because he cant do what you think he can. At his point in his sales career there his manager would probably laugh at him.
Most people know that they are going to pay a little more at a dealership for a car than private party thats just the way the business works.

He is just trying to get a clientèle going and thought this would be a good place to start. No reason to absolutely murder him and make rediculous demands. The ish he is putting here is probably straight out of a manual that was given to him and he probably has alot to learn. Anyways whatever it doesnt matter to me.

If the dealership goes for your first pencil then you've just paid too much.

I have no problems with the guy posting here pulling in business. And you are right, he was very respectable up to the point he unloaded on zand02max. And sorry to say zand02max, your offer was unreasonable, at least here in the DFW market. But the point is he got all worked up when somebody tried to lowball him. Come man, we've all bought cars before. It name of the game is you shoot high and I shoot low and let's see if we can meet in the middle. It's not your an idiot for low balling me. That was what turned me off. Roflo, if you don't like people throwing out low ball offers then man you are in the wrong business.
