Default Nopi Race Wars at Texasmotorplex

On April 12 & 13, the NOPI Drag Racing Association (NDRA) will invade the Texas Motorplex in Ennis. The NDRA will launch their 2003 season at the all-concrete quarter-mile track, known for its record-breaking runs. There are dozens of new cars and teams gearing up for a run at the Xbox Championship in the Fast and the Furious Racing Series. The NOPI Race Wars will feature some of the fastest sport compact cars in the world and some of the best drivers in the sport compact racing scene. Race Wars brings with it numerous events to keep you busy all weekend long. Saturday and Sunday will feature the street, sportsman, and pro classes and the OTB Scorched Earth Burnout Competition. The weekend will also feature a car show, music, DJ’s, games and the NOPI Swimsuit Nationals. Saturday night brings the NOPI Night Street Drags and the NOPI After Dark party with light and neon show. The NOPI Race Wars is one event you won’t want to miss.

1st Run vs. a Vw GTI 337 1.8T not stock

350Z.....................GTI
R/T .229------------.325
60' 2.00-----------2.394
1/8 9.030---------9.490
MPH 77.78----------77.09
1/4 14.054----------14.634
MPH 97.57-----------95.85

2nd run by myself(no one would line up next to me)
R/T .174
60' 2.431 (a ton of wheel spin launched around 3.5k)
1/8 9.509
MPH 77.39
1/4 14.550 (worst run of the day)
MPH 97.21

3rd run vs. a black VW(kentech) VR6 Supercharged with over 300hp to the wheels
350z-------------------------VW
R/T .172 --------------------.285
60' 2.235------------------2.204
1/8 9.376------------------8.733
MPH 76.74 ------------------84.72
1/4 14.443-----------------13.409
MPH 96.83 ------------------104.78
I launched way to hard on this run a ton of wheel spin and hit the rev limiter in 1st and 2nd I should have hit 13.8 or 13.9 on this run.

4th run (1st round elimination Bracket 14)
BMW M3 Auto----------------350Z
Dial in 14.69 ----------------14.20
R/T .031(that is kick ***)----.119
60' 2.278 --------------------2.124(I hit the rev limiter in 1st)
1/8 9.545---------------------9.156
Mph 75.13---------------------78.39
1/4 14.702(WIN)-------------14.131(breakout)
Mph 95.18 --------------------97.82

I lost this because we were "Bracket" racing. I wanted to dial in at 14.0 but Ken From KenTech told me to average all my runs form earlier in the day. I have never raced like this before so, I thought I should listen to someone that knows what they where talking about. The BMW M3 got a .77 sec head start but I caught and pass him but still lost Damnit. Oh well I had a lot of fun. there was only one other Z out (Z32) he was going to race in B14 but for some reason did not run. I was hoping to get lined up with him. That would have made fro some cool pics.

If I can stop spinning the tires so bad in first and hitting the rev limiter I can run a 13.8 or a 13.9 . It will just take some practice.

Every Fri night the Texasmotorplex has "Fast Fridays". anyone can bring out their car and run all night for only $15.
I think we should get a meet together and all take our z out there

Yeah, that would be fun one night. I still don't like how they changed the reaction time lights and everything. I just can't get used to it. For fifty plus years, a .499 light or a .399 light (depending on the type of tree) was red. I know it's supposed to help make it easier for the "average joe," but now I'm confused! LOL

Sounds like you could easily get your car in the 13s with some traction! That's awesome!
