i dont think anyone has any idea how good GS is...a team that transformed big time mid season, and then it took time for hte team to gel...so their record has very little to do wit hthe team they are now...

if this series is any indicator of how good of a team the current warriors are...watch out...it could be another new york knicks for a few years ago

on the flip side

GO NETS!!!! lol

The playoffs begin tomorrow for the Spurs. Phoenix will be tough, I have my fingers crossed.

Go Spurs!

Wow are you serious...The mavs yes this year shot themselves in the foot. They changed their game plan that won them 67 this year and I believe 3 against your Spurs of the 4 they play.

They should have started their bigs the entire time and made GS play to their game but they didnt. Also, I think that they hurt themselves by resting everyone at the end of the year. They just didnt look like themselves.

I dont see how they are over hyped they were clearly the best team in the league this year by far. If not they wouldnt have run away with the southwest division by 9 games. I feel it will now be spurs-pistons final. The Mavs beat themselves in this series just like the finals.

Blah Blah Blah... The Mavs weren't the best team this year. The best team is the one that wins the championship.

Not best team. I'd categorize them as the "Most Consistent Finishers" in the regular season. They'd be -10 wins this year if it weren't for a LOT of good finishes.

I'd say the best team in the NBA this year is the Suns. How they're able to keep up the pace and consistency with that kind of attack is crazy. GS did it for 5 games... the Suns has been running teams out of the arena for 3 years now (1 entire season w/o Amare and still got to the western conf. finals).

IMO, Nash should have gotten MVP this year... Mavs would still be a 50 win team minus Dirk; hell Howard is more of a difference maker than Dirk is. The Suns would be lucky to make the playoffs w/o Nash.

Not always the truth...The best teams doesnt always win the championship.

Last year in the Finals the Heat were not better than the Mavs.

Last year world series the Cardinals were not the best team in baseball.

When Texas beat USC in the Rose Bowl for the National Title not a better team just had the best player.

There are plenty of times when the best team does not win. The Chargers were the best in the NFL last year but didnt win the Super Bowl.

The team that wins titles is the one that plays the best in crunch time and this year that wasnt the mavs.

I think you guys need to realize, that GSW had dallas all year and dallas had the spurs, but the spurs had the suns.
So really its all just a matter of how the teams match up. dallas tried to run small w/ gsw this yr and lost. The spurs tried it last yr w/ dallas and lost. The way i look at it is you cant look at the regular season, i mean robert horry doesnt even earn a paycheck for the spurs till playoff time. Denver knows that. So i wouldnt compare teams stats on what they did in the regular season. thats my 2 cents

LOL
Yes it is true, the best team is always the one that wins the championship.
That's why the game is played, as well as the playoffs. The best team is not the one who is best on paper or the one that has the best record at the end of the season. It's the team that overcomes advertisity and does what it takes to win.
Last year the Heat were the best team. Not the Mavs. The Mavs couldn't even win 1 game.
Last year the Cardinals were the best team in baseball. They dealt with injuries all season long and were still able to pull it together and win the championship.
Texas Beat USC straight up in the Rose Bowl. Texas was the best team.
Chargers didn't make it to the Super Bowl. Chargers not the best team.
You can make any arguement you want about who the best team is/was. But in the end the last team standing is always the best team.

Not trying to beat a dead horse here but you are wrong...The best team is not always the last one standing. They are playing the best at the time of the playoffs.

Hockey is a prime example of how a hot goalie can get you through the playoffs and you dont have to be the best team. Look at the NCAA Championship game in the 80s with NC State and Houston. There is no way on Gods green earth that you can tell me right now that NC State was or is a better team than that Houston team.

The best doesnt always win. I understand that the last team standing is what people consider the best. But its not always the case. There are plenty of times in sports that the best team lost because someone had their number or they didnt show up for a game and it was costly.

If the bulls that won 72 games a few years back hadnt won the championship would you say that the team that won was the best. No way that time was gross how good they were. That was the case for the mavs this year they were scary good but the Warriors had their number and Dallas didnt show up.

Call it the only failure to a playoff system, the "best" team has a bad game and they are out. That said, to me it is the closest and truest way to determine the BEST. Otherwise, you get something like BCS.

I understand what you are saying, but when you have 7 games to win each round, i dont think you are the best team if you lose. i could understand maybe best of 3 but 7 games?
