Dallas apt opinions
As some of you know I have an internship in Dallas this summer and I have narrowed my apt search down to four places and I need some opinions on them/the area. The office is downtown on ross ave., however since I will be an auditor, I will be at the clients office most of the time (which could be anywhere in the metroplex/FW). So the closer to downtown the better because of the $.485 mileage reimbursement rate
1) Southern Villas
5383 southern blvd (12 miles from downtown/tollway and 635)
$715/mo cable included
-I like this place but its the farthest north of the three apts.
2) Camden Glen Lakes
9600 golf lakes trail (8 miles for dt/ 75 and walnut hill)
-809/mo cable included
-The oldest of the three apts
3) Phoenix Midtown
5555 E mockingbird ln (4 miles for dt/can take the dart if I need to be at
the office_
-804/mo nothing included
-The closest to dt and the nicest of the three apts
4) Stay at a Homestead Suites; its a hotel with a kitchen
-750/mo (or 850/mo with maid service) and includes all utilities
Any opinions would be greatly appreciated! Which do you guys recommend with regards to neighborhood, price, less stressfull, best lookin female area, etc... Im leaning towards either Southern Villas or the Phoenix. I am leasing furniture as well so that bumps each price up 130/mo. Thanks~Brian

www.apartmentratings.com
check out www.dallas.craigslist.com for some apartment listings in/around the uptown area. you can sometimes find some really good deals there.

Southern Villas: if its the place im thinking about, you should consider www.veronadallas.com. Its a high rise right next to Southern Villa (i think) and you might be able to get the same rent.
Camden: 75 and walnut hill is a so-so area...depends on which side of 75 its on. West is good, East is bad.
Phoenix: "hip", lively area, really close to lower greenville, lots of bars/small clubs, kind of like a smaller 6th street since youre from austin.
