Not everywhere, I got my first plate ticket after 3 years of no plates on the Z and 4 years on my S4.

It was a $140 fine, they didnt care about me fixing it or not, I even told the lady you I paid the ticket to, I rather pay $140 each time, then drill into the bumpers of my cars, she said it was cool "the city just cares about the money"

My Z already had a front plate on it when I bought it...so I guess I'll leave it since my front bumper is already Holy!

Just got a new front bumper and the bodyshop put two holes for the plate in the bumper.

Never had any problems before, but i really HATE looking at these holes.

In Austin most senior officers will not stop you just for no front plate. There are a lot of rookie officers that will make the stop based on that alone and will write a citation for it. However most of the time it's just a warning.

They are still attempting to change the law in Texas to only have a rear plate - that's still in the works and won't be for a while.

In Austin the citation usually will not be a fix-it-ticket. It is normally a fine unless the Municipal Court prosecutor decides to show you mercy - then you would just pay the court fees (like $15ish).

Just received a warning from a Round Rock cop 2 days ago. He mentioned if I were to get ticketed that the fine would be hundreds of dollars. Just can't bring myself to drill into the bumper.
