Default Quick *newbie* question

So... I'm looking at buying the Tanabe NF210 springs.. which would be a drop of 1.2 inch drop front and rear.

Question is, will I need a camber kit?

Anyone know of a Z that has this setup without the kit, any problems?

Appreciate the feedback

-Hal

So how much of a drop do you have? Can you really tell the handling/alignment is bad without the kit?

tanabe gf210 is 1" in the front and 1.2" in the rear..to me personally i think it handles much better now...and with the alignment its not really bad at all...but i'm still a newbie in the modding department..if u wanna be on the safe side def go with the camber kit...i'm pretty sure somebody will chime in to give u better advice..

Like was already said, with any drop you need a camber kit. It is especially worse with anything over 3/4".

Depends on what you want...droping the car over an inch gives you some much needed camber if you're into handling and a car that really pulls a turn...but you'll waste tires in 15k easily...i'm alright with it and know that either way i'm putting new tires on every two years just because they get hard after that...so if it's your daily driver and you want 20+k miles out of your tires you'll probably want to bring the camber back to -1.5...personally i'm running -2 in the rear and -2.5 in the front...

Go to NTB in north richland hills and ask for Jay...they align my Z and Porsche...the guys are great and Mark really dials in the alignment rather than just "getting it within spec" like every other place...either that or go to a performance shop with lazer alignment...cause strings just won't cut it.

to sum it up...i wouldn't say you need the camber kit because the lowering increases neg camber in a way that will perform better...but you will eat up the tires faster and if your into drag racing you'll have a smaller contact patch in the rear and therefore less traction.

i know on my honda accord i didnt have any issues dropping it an inch and i had the same tires for around 15k before i sold the car. I also havent noticed any abnormal wear on my tires and i have a 1 inch drop and about 28k and i have had the drop for about 20k miles and my stock tires still have a few k left in them, but i think that seems to be the norm on these tires to not last longer than 30k.
