Just let me know when, man.
The more notice I have the more likely I'll be to be able to convince more Houston area guys (and gals maybe) to show up.

Hi Guys,

It was great putting a face with the names of all the new folks, and great to see some of the ol' timers (you know like 8 months )

Rick, it really is amazing how your car seems to like the donuts. It just begged me to go around again and again. I was just hoping you wouldn't walk over to the side of the lot where the rubber piled up.

As for your favorite pic, how could he not post the most beautiful DB Track there?

Rob, I guess Mark has the most mods of the people I know. But he is gone for the near future so I guess I win for performance (sic) mods. Does a 3rd Transmission count as a "mod?"

Thanks again guys, and I am looking forward to another one soon.

Funny you should mention that. When we talked about that, I remember you saying yours was an odd gear you had problems with, wasn't it? Most people say 4th gear problems, and I said I had some slight rare problems with 4th. Well, 4th does nothing now, but several times this week I have had grinding going into 3rd, even while shifting very slowly, non-aggressively. Just regular shifting into 3rd has been producing terrilble sounding grinds. I am at 4600 miles. When did your first problems start, and what gear was it again?

Rob,

It was definitely 3rd gear for me on my first tranny. I was around 7-8000mi when my first one was replaced. On my 2nd one it was 1st gear. I just had it replaced at ~13500mi. I now have 100 miles on the new tranny.

If you can reliably reproduce your grinding in 3rd, I would take it to the dealership and show them. They will most likely replace it. I have been dealing with Clint at Round Rock Nissan. If you tell him Derek sent you, he will know who I am (he has my cell # memorized )

I just wish Nissan would give us a sign whether they have any ideas what is going on with our trannies. It definitely doesn't appear to be the clevis pin fix.

Hope that helps.

JD

It's doing it a lot now, and I am SICK of looking like an idiot driving around town grinding 3rd gear for the whole world to see

I am going to wait until I get my car fixed from that accident and then start talking to Nissan. I don't want them to see my rear end all messed up and try and use that against me (you never know, even though my car was not in gear when I got rear ended)

Default That sucks

Sorry to hear about both of your trannys. From talking to articfury at the meet its to the point where he's thinking of getting rid of his Z due to that and other issues.

Hey Rob,

Did you get your rear-end fixed yet? Was it you I saw on Mopac yesterday (Sat. 6/14)? Just curious since I usually don't see other Zs while I'm actually driving.

I finally saw an SB with Chrome factory wheels on Friday night down by Star Bar on 6th, didn't look too hard as I was walking pretty fast in the rain.

Is that one anyone here?
