Default Howdy!

Well, I feel out of place here, all you guys and few girls have some sweet *** new 350's.

I have a 1980 280ZX in Metallic Blue... thats right 23 years old.. and its in MINT condition... I have just over 76,000 miles on it.

Aside from track events (which I'm not putting a 23 year old car in) what else cool goes on around here?

Meets. They'll happen about once a month or so up here in Dallas. Just browse around, you'll see them when they pop up. Have fun with your classic.

It's a play on my last name.

Do we have any old school owners around here that are local to DFW by chance?

I'm gonna assume like Christi on this one...

The only reason im on this board is because I met Christi, she's roughly my age, and she has stuff done to it... obviously an "enthusiast"

Are their younger members on the Z club of Dallas? I'm in my mid 20's... and you wouldnt believe how odd I must look in a car this is just as old as I am (that runs perfect too!)

I'm one of the longest standing members of one of the Subaru Impreza forums, and I'd say are average age is about 26 throughout Texas... obviously there are some older people... and then sometimes there's a 16 year old whose mommy and daddy just bought them some $25,000+ vehicle

-Kevin

PS... damn! who's blue 280 is this in your Autorama pics? http://www.zcluboftexas.org/autorama03.mov looks just like mine! (except this was just polished )

Hee Hee. I think I border along the lines of addicted to my car. lol

I know two guys that are regulars here that also are members of the Z Club. Both are in our age bracket. I've been meaning to join for a while, but I keep forgetting to send Mike my form. (Mike, I've got it all filled out, I'll mail it SOON, I promise!) But I think it will be fun to get some pointers from some of the older guys (ha ha, no offense!)--I've been in drag racing most of my life and I REALLY have the itch to start autocrossing instead.

Kevin, IIRC, there are some high school aged guys who are Z members. I believe they are owners of first generation Zs. Youngest member is 16 yrs old. (Good to get bitten early in life!)
Recent new member Sam Tannehill just turned 17 and owns a '78 280Z that he restored himself with a Ferrari red paint job!

Owner of this '77 is Ed Echols, who is the second owner and bought it in '78. Ed got an Outstanding Award in Foreign Sports category at the recent Autorama car show.

Christi, if you are referring to moi', then I am truly blushing! (We Asians don't really show our age well, do we?)

Well, this sounds like a real good deal... I will definitly look into this when I'm ready to take the car out to pbulic showings... I have a few door dings here and there, also waiting on my personalized plate (Z HEIST) I also want to repaint the side mirror housings (faded a bit)...

Right now, I'm concentrating all of my efforts into creating a 300hp 2800lbs Subaru Impreza Coupe, should be done in a month or so

No, but I wish I could. I have to work. I Gave my "donation" to your VP at the last meet. It's really cool. We should get some really good bids from it. But I will Be at the Car show Sunday 6/1 at Hooters in Irving around 12:30pm, If you want to see the New front lip.
