Sounds like Texas to me... one of my frat brothers in college was from The Woodlands outside of Houston and had literally never met a Jewish person in his life before college. Total culture shock when he joined a frat 1/3 of which was Long Island Jews.

Haha and that just reminded me of when my Chinese boss was in the Dallas area when his wife was interviewing for medical residencies got pulled over for speeding, and then he explained to the trooper that pulled him over that "I'm from the DC area, and when you get an opening on the roadway you have to go as fast as possible, because you don't know when you'll get open roadway again." True story... not sure if the cop let him off for fear of being racist or because my boss is completely disarming in the "poor guy has hardly been in the states very long" sort of way

Orange County, California.

2.07 is not too high I guess. I am just afraid if there's some other taxes I have to pay.

Can't inform any further there... but now being in the DC area I really miss the cost of living from the midwest - just imagine the mods you'll be able to afford! FI in no time!

i can't stand the humidity in houston. it's just unbearable.
Austin is nice. Pretty little city but there's not a whole lot of jobs.

Dallas can get hot but less humid.

Don't want to pry, but what line of work are you in? Pretty much anything can be had in Dallas as I'm sure you know

word.

humidity i awful here. combine that with the heat during summertime and you dont want to get out to do a damn thing. Houstons one of the unhealthiest (fattest) cities in the US because of the weather as well as an abundance of restaurants. as opposed to a city like say San Diego, one of the healthiest cities in the US. shoot with great weather all the time you cant help but get out be active and do something. here, you dont want to do anything but stay in all day esp if its scorching and muggy out...which is how it is 80% of the year.
