Texas Mile was featured recently on the Speed Channel. I know a few local individuals who are trying to crack the 200mph club. I've been considering going to this event but don't think the Z was made to go that fast.

But if you want a better thrill, you may want to look at the the Big Bend Open Road Race. Now, this is something I have been seriously contemplating since last year.

We are really blessed in Texas to have these two great events! Before I die, I will drive in one, maybe both, events!!!

Not made to go that fast? Shoot my speed limiter wouldn't let me go past 160 on a 5 mile stretch. :P

If you do go to BB let me know. I have been wanting to go as well.

The Big Bend Open Road Race is definitely what I've been wanting to do for years. It was just a matter of getting the right car for the event. And I think my Z is currently setup to do well -- 59 freakin' open Texas miles! If I do go, I'll make sure to let you know and post it in this forum. Lots of freakin' American domestic V8 muscle cars on the list . . . we need to show 'em our Zs can do well in this race.

Just check out the site and see what class you'd run in. Your car has to be setup to run certain speed classes. Safety equipment is required, too.

There are no qualifications -- just pass the tech inspection and pick the "MPH" you want.
