*Dallas Meet to Ennis (Fast Friday) tomorrow!!*
Well, guys this was pretty fun tonight. I wish it hadn't been so humid/warm. I think with better track prep we could have some better 60' as well. Ok now the excuses are out of the way.
Post up your runs of tonight! These are for my stock Touring. I weighed it after run two with me in it at 3425 with me and half tank of gas. Yikes!
#1 #2
60' 2.18 2.25
ET 14.20 14.19
MPH 98.13 97.40
I have a feeling when the weather cools and the humidity gets lower we will break some 13's.

Hey it was great to meet you guys. Here's my times.. stock Performance with 1950 miles at the time and race weight was 3435...
60' - 2.281, 2.282
1/8 - 9.385, 9.373
mph- 77.12, 78.13
1/4 - 14.449, 14.425
mph - 97.83, 97.51
I believe there was a 14.3 in the car, exactly what I was expecting but I just couldn't quite hit it, but I still had a blast and that's all that really matters

Very dissapointing for me as a driver last night. Although it was good getting out meeting some new people and doing something different.
Ummm.......uhhhhh......, no comment about my times.
Let's just say that I need practice finding 3rd gear
On the lighter side, the Borla sounded awesome! Seems to get a lot deeper and meaner the hotter it gets......-Ricky-

Yeah, I'm with Ricky....my times weren't the best but then again it was my first time out there and I really didn't know what to expect. Enjoyed meeting everyone as well. Next Dallas meet you guys should join us again. All and all I think we had 7 350Z's out there, a 300ZX, and one bad *** 240Z running 12's. I thought wesman ran a 13.9?
The only remotely decent time I will share...hehe!
60' - 2.364
1/8 - 9.629
mph- 75.95
1/4 - 14.728
mph - 96.92

My first run was a 13.9 @ 100 and after putting the drag radials on, I forgot to take off TCS and ran a dang 14.5 bogging like crazy. It got worse after that with the exception of my last run on them which was a 13.8 @ 100
I'm ok happy with the 13.9 on the 18's , since it's exactly how I drive on the street, I like to get true street baselines. I think everyone would have done a little better with better track conditions, it was pretty crappy out there with all the Mustangs losing their fluids all the way down the track.
Good to meet you guys and I'm sure I'll see you guys around.

Looks like a combo of my bad launch and my lack of an intake. Maybe. Your 60' was better by .15 which translated to a .2 at the end of the track which is about right. But you also had 2.5 more MPH than me which could be attributed to the sixty foot I guess but I really think that it is just HP. So I ordered a grounding kit. Now I need to order the 60' program to jack into my brain...
I'll bet that the mph is HP also.. even with awful 60's your mph usually remains about the same. Not to say your 60's are awful
I'm fighting the urge to order one of those cat pipes, be sure to let us know what the "butt dyno" reports too. I'm thinking the pipes will be compatible with the turbo kits that come out so I think it's a mod that I can continue to use post turbo.

Well, 60' times can hurt your MPH. For instance, in my race this weekend in San Antonio (IHRA) I was running 10.63 to 10.66 all weekend at 128 MPH. I lost in the freakin finals because I spun (no clue why - bad prep?) and lost a tenth at the 60', lost .08 at the 1/4 mile and also lost 2 MPH. But, I lost to family so it's cool. Two weekends ago I beat family in the first round and eventually won the race up here near Dallas.
Revenge is sweet I guess.

Once you start getting into much faster cars like what you are running, super stock class, and even "stock" class, it is much different. Their mph will be higher than a "street car" with the same hp. Those "stock" guys are running mid 10's on LT1 motors but they have insane 60's.
Once you get the launch out of the way where traction isn't in the equasion, then acceleration is nothing but a physics equasion.... Your acceleration (hp) and distance will directly translate to mph. So what I was saying was meant more for our Z cars with similar traction and 60' times.

Hey John,
How would you compare your Mustang and your Z in terms of performance ?
How would you compare your Mustang and your Z in terms of performance ?
Past about 85mph I think the CD and gearing of the mustang kind of blows and it really slows down right there. The 350 accelerates almost as fast from 25-55 as it does from 85-105 because of it's .29 CD and excellent transmission gearing.Handling is a one sided comparison for the 350, it blows the mustang away. I always scare my friends in my mustang around corners, steering with the back tires and stuff. Most people say it's like riding in a roller coaster
... Now with the 350 I go a little faster around the same corners and I don't scare them as much because they think I'm going slower, but its only because it feels so much more controlled.Braking is completely different... the 350 has amazing brakes. I'm not sure what the 60-0 times are for the 2 cars but there is a pretty significant difference in the "butt dyno" on that.
I still love the mustang, don't get me wrong. I have never been too thrilled with the 4.6L motor, but it's still a very fun car. There's a lot to be said about being able to oversteer on command around corners and stuff like that. With the 350 you have to plan your gears and mph a little better to get it sideways

Probably more than you wanted to know. If you wanted to find out for yourself, it would be hard, but occasionally I can be pursuaded to drive the mustang and I could show you
