You can also tune the car yourself - street tuning.

edit - If you get a tune from this guy, let me know how that goes.

Does anyone know about how much this " Tune " will cost ? Also what does this tune consist of (ie), New plugs, ECU adjudtments, etc....

I want to get one also so maybe we can try and get this guy when he is around in town and tune a group of us. Maybe save money on a group rate ?

If I remember correctly he charges $350 for a UTEC tune. You'll also have to pay for the dyno time at your dyno of choice. He likes to go to Import Car Center. I believe they charge $200-$300 for a couple hours of time. It consists of tuning your engine management of choice. Does not include anything that's part of a "tune up" like plugs.

You'll have to check w/ him for a group rate, as I'm not sure if he offers that. he might though.

Well the temps are just right here in Cali. I can't wait to get back and get this ***** on the road. Can someone with good english and bargaining skills contact the guy.I'm a 100% go with him.The only thing I may be worried about is the dyno tune to street driveablilty. It may dyno nice but I want flawless driving.I don't wanna get off the dyno and my **** flutter and a certain RPM.SO we may want to keep the number of people getting dynoed low.

If Chris tunes at the Import Car Center in Grapevine, they use a Dyno Dynamics which can simulate any load. Chris likes to tune on these b/c they can simulate real world situations where he can tune as many load cells as possible.

Ive sat on that couch plenty of times...Its comfy. Anyways, Mark is the only person in TX I would take my car to. Jotech is awesome, they just dont tune the utec, so SGP IS YOUR ONLY OPTION!

My car will only go to SGP. Anywhere else is just a waste of time.

Mark is a good man. He's smart as hell and knows everything about the Z. Johnny answered every questioned I had. Unfortunately my cog belt started slipping. After 4 years, it finally started going. It would start slipping at around 300 HP (4500) RPM. A new one is on order and will be back in two weeks. Mark said he would hook me up with a tune since we couldn't finish.

lol...look around the boards...I dunno how many times I've heard....

OP - "FCK!! I blew my motor!!!"
another member - who tuned it?
OP - "some guy that said he tunes utecs"
another member - "you're in lousianna, why didn't you goto xxxx shop? its only 4 hours away."
OP - "this guy was closer".

My money and my car go to SGP...no where else. I have dropped too much cash on my motor to let just anyone tune it. A tune can make or break your car...take it to the best. If SGP was in fcking Maine...I would ship my car there.

You may not be out alot of cash from all your free sh*t, but if it blows up...you'll be dropping a good $14k to build it back up (fully built).

I've seen cars from the bahamas, middle east, caymen islands, trinidad, etc at SGP...Mark knows his stuff, shoots your straight, and is a great guy to boot. Been a loyal customer for over 2 years and have dropped about $40k there....and will be willfully giving them more of my hard earned money...

It's only 6 1/2 hours away from you.

It's 4 hours from Dallas, a 4 hour drive for me is worth the piece of mind knowing my car is in good hands. Once you're there, you can ask Johnny about a good taqueria (taco place) down the street.

Then you'd be at Baby Dolls or The Gentlemens Club.

Actually, that would be a good combo.....Performance tunes & a strip bar all in one. I'm sure it would do awesome.
