They make metal clips called "ply-locks" that grip the brick around the window and hold the wood in. I spent yesterday doing it to my house.

I'm only about 10 minutes west of Galveston Bay in Dickinson. I'll be leaving soon. Got the Z already loaded. Going to my folks house in Lake Jackson. It is still VERY near the coast but it wont get the storm surge & flooding, just the wind.

Screw the wind. I'm gonna put a saddle on this b**ch and ride it!

I had to leave town because I have a test scheduled on Saturday. No make ups for hurricanes and I don't want to wait until next year to take it. Flew up to Tulsa last night. No way to really drive the cars to higher ground with the time constraint, family, and studying. The other car is a 3000GT VR-4. I'm hoping flooding won't be too bad. The cars are insured, but you can't replace the time I've put into them, particularily the VR-4. Can't do much now but wait and see.

Plywood is usually drilled into place with screws, but there are a lot of nice fastners these days that secure it into place.

It's only part of the Arlington section between 360/820, and a small portion, but they close the lanes down to 2 and run some big cranes at night...

On the side note: MNF, go Eagles!

and from the reports on the news, seabrook is already flooding... and the storm isn't supposed to hit until like midnight. bye bye house.

my z is safe with me in a non flood area! woot... save the z, **** the empire!

I've been through worse.

I stay in India from time to time and I have been through one of their seasonal monsoons along with typhoons. Believe me, this is nothing. Lights go out over there constantly. And won't come back for days or weeks. Hell when extremely heavy rain showers hit, some places don't get electricity for months.

The only people that are literally in the "danger" zone are the trailer residents. And all of those people are coming and staying at the Best Western I'm working at right now. Bringing their filthy attitudes with them.

Good eye. Don't worry, just listening to some tunes while putting the cars up. Who knows, maybe the last time. They are rolled up now, but if I have to worry about windows in my garage, I don't think it's going to matter

JGZ350 here in H-Town, and the sh*t is about to hit. Got the 06 GTC in the garage and hope that is enough. It's about to get real crazy in an hour. I'm surprised I still have juice right now. Saddle up, lock and load and hang on to your azzz! Late.

I still have the internet and it's getting exciting outside! I believe the eye should make landfall in Galveston any minute now!

I have not made it back home yet since Southwest isn't flying until Tuesday, but my neighbors say our house is fine. It's unbelieveable since the eye of the hurricane went right over my house. I live just east of I-45 in League City. We even have electricity, water, and gas. I didn't think hurricanes could jump over spots like that. Tornadoes do that, but this hurricane had a 40 mile diameter eye. I know lots of people very close to where I live were not as fortunate. Some relatives in NW Houston had their roof blown off. It's going to be crazy when I get back. I don't even know what's going on with the place I work.

I sure hope you were not one of those SHEAGLES fans at Texas Stadium.
Hell of a game played by both sides, I enjoyed it, and forgot about all the damage IKE did to us here. I was able to get alot of ice, and other supplies for my pals here in Houston.
