Austin Z Owners (2222?)
i visit austin fairly often. last nite, i asked my homeboy where's a cool place to drive my z. well, he took me to 2222. boy is that fun. it was night and i've only had my z for a week, plus there were lots of other cars so we took it pretty conservatively. but goodness, those twisties shure are fun. can't wait to try that again in the daytime with minimal traffic. so my question is, how come i haven't seen anyone post about this road here? and do you have other favorite roads to drive in austin? thanks for any info you can share
Off the top of my head:
Old Spicewood Springs Rd, City Park Rd, Lime Rock Rd, Old San Antonio Rd, certain stretches of 620 and 2222 far west of town. I used to drive southeast too, out towards Niederwald and the surrounding countryside. It's not too hard to find nice roads in Austin.
If you have time I highly recommend heading out into the Hill Country. Some great roads and very scenic driving as well.
As far as real aggressive driving, consider joining your local SCCA chapter.

2222 would be great if it weren't for all the cops and too much traffic...for real fun, you need to get way out in the Hill Country. Seems like APD cops are EVERYWHERE these days - they've taken much of the fun out of speeding in this town.
