Mike - I thought you had a 275 rear? I remember looking at it and saying you're running the same size I am. It's also important to note that your front tires are a 35 series and not 40... unless of course you've changed tires since I last saw.

Also, experienced drag racers don't run wide tires like that as it would actually hurt the ET and trap. In drag racing, and probably in any motorsport, you never run wider tires than necessary. If anything, you go as narrow as possible without sacrificing traction to reduce weight, drag, etc. If wider = faster, I would've mounted 11.5" wide tires when I used to drag race.
I can sell my back up pair (285/35/18 R-S3s with 6/32" tread; new is 8.8/32") if anybody needs tires or want to try out R-S3s without fully committing to a brand new set.
see i think i am set on 245 on front and now i am going back and forth with 265 or 275 rear... dang decisions.

^ Dude, you're making this too hard. Just look up the tire specs on TireRack.com. They'll tell you the recommended wheel widths for that tire brand/model and size. It should really only depend on whether or not you care about points/class if you're racing and your budget/taste if you daily drive.

Travis....my Enkei's are 18x9.5 frt and 18x10.5 Rear with +15 offset and I run the V-12's for DD'ng. My set up is 245/40/18 & 275/40/18 and they fit perfect....especially with your drop....you will be fine and you won't have to get your rears rolled if you don't want to.

they are grippy - and do good in the rain too - they have been daily driven for 6 months now and are good - i just now got the car aligned so they suffered some uneven wear, and my lower control arm bushings were shot -
but they are grippy -
but i threw a cel yesterday on the way home - VCD/SLIP and check engine came on - yay lol -

Chris - I was hoping I would get your attention with the knock on drag racing. I was just poking fun.
Travis - Here's an example of the Hankook V12 in 245/40 on 18x9. Maybe you should get the 255 to match the sidewall look of the 275 rear on 9.5". I've also done a bit more reading and I read that the 255 would have less understeer than the 245/. So maybe that would be the better front tire for ya.

hmm cleared the code - there is still an issue, it briefly died this morning while driving but no cel thrown up - hopefully checking the sensor tonight and connectors - but i am understanding that there may have been some issues with the timing chain guide rails on this motor, anyone heard/have that? - hope that isn't my senario - i'd rather proceed with taking the cam sensor off and clean it out and put it back on and be done haha
