Let's face it guys, there are plenty of american cars we would like to have. Some just don't like to admit it.
The Camaro SS and Pontiac Trans-Am were both beasts with power. GM didn't do well enough with the platform obviously, but if raw power and torque were what you were after then you couldn't go wrong. Bang for the buck in it's finest.
Our EPA and safety regulations always limited things and that's where asian automakers kill us. They make efficient cars that are still top-notch performers. You get the best of both worlds with imports.

It's really just up to your driving style and what you enjoy. The US has always been about straight line racing (or even in a big oval

That's why I love my bike. The Z is great too, I just haven't gotten it on the track yet. I will be doing some autocross and drifting this year.

I might go up there in the AM tomorrow. They open at 11:00 AM. So if I get there early then I might avoid some crowds.

one of my employees just recently helped his friend pick up a Viper he had just bought off ebay. the car was located in el paso so they drove there to pick it up. they drove there in a of all cars the friend's 350z. Ryan, my employee, had the pleasure of driving the Viper for about 200 miles, much of it at very high speeds. He said that the Viper didnt feel as planted as his friends stock Z and even noted that you could just feel like you were driving a Dodge, whatever that means. take that for what it's worth.
