You may need to get a square of sheetrock, cut out a matching sized square where the hole is, insert, tape, texture, paint. Pain in the **** to do all that, but that would be the legit repair.

I definitely agree, may be a little cumbersom but well worth the DIY instead of paying someone to come in and do it for you.

Ya I've still got it. Still hardly drive it, but when I do it's always fun. You have the G37 still?

Couldn't really find much info. Is it possible to jack the G/Z from the side and completely jack up the entire left or right side of the vehicle? My garage isn't deep enough to jack it from the front nor rear spots.

Well yeah. I only jack the car up from the side.

About a foot behind the front wheel and the whole side will lift up because it's such a stiff chassis.

you could get a hockey puck, and cut a grove in the middle of it..... use that to put the jack on instead of crushing that seam. eric and i actually talked about that before

Ya you can jack at the pinch weld. There should be a couple of indentions there to show where to jack. If you don't want to mess up that pinch weld then you can definitely cut a groove in a hockey puck to save it. Travis actually gave me a hockey puck so I did just that.

I wouldn't be able to place my jack stands in place if I jacked from the pinch weld though.

You just have to place the jack far enough back to get a jack stand in front of it. The rear will come up with the front cause the car is so stiff. Just one jack point for the whole side.

My jacking points for when I need to use a stand:
-front: align jack with door mirror
-rear: align jack with door handle

This doesn't mean that these are the correct spots; it's just the points that I use. Keeping in mind the 52/48 weight distribution, jack up from the front one if you want to raise the entire side, like Eric said.

Good luck, I used an impact when i did mine with a 24" extension from the engine bay. May be an option to get that stubborn nut off.

I lift my car from the differential when doing the rear. For the front i use the brace that holds the compression rod. I hate lifting by pinch welds.

The way my garage is I can't put the jack in front nor at the rear differential. I'm going to have to try to find the spot Chris is talking about.
