top 5 songs from Houston artists, actually, as voted by Houston listeners.

you should give em a listen, you might like it. it might be an acquired taste since youre from New York though. expand your musical horizon.

yea i try to man, no offense i just cant stand anything from down south, except a little luda. I lost all hope in down south music once everyone down there thought Lil Wayne was a good rapper. TI is ok in some songs too.

Do you guys feel that way about NY rap? cause i just cant picture anyone saying they dont like NY rap like Jada, Wu Tang, Jay Z, Nas etc etc

its definately a local thing. the music is down here is slow and laid back, just like the lifestyle in Houston.

those artists youve listed above are definately on another level and are more exposed nationwide and for good reason. their music is definately more appealing to a larger audience. but just as there are good im sure there are a lot of underground NY rap that only you could appreciate, know what im saying?

<---listens to everything

Pretty much.

I like a few NY artist. Mostly old 90's stuff like Biggie and Tribe Called Quest. One contributing factor why southerners like dirty south hip-hop, is because of the bass lines. We're more into hard hitting bass lines. Fo' fid-tanes's in da trunk nucca!

^^^^hahahaha yea u guys are crazy down there riding on 22's bumpin in old school cars an sh*t haha.

i dont really like any rap nowadays. NY or not. Rap is just garbage nowadays.

hence why i NEVERRRRR listen to the radio.

Theres enough Biggie, Jay, Nas, and Pac albums to keep me satisfied.
