Default Z Dealers in Tx selling for less than MSRP?

Hopefully I've got this post in the correct forum. I've been looking, but no one seems to want to come off MSRP. Anyone know of any dealers in Texas that are budging on the price?

I would be VERY surprised if you couldn't find any dealers in Dallas or Houston willing to come off of MSRP. I got my CS Enth in April for $1250 off MSRP from North Texas Nissan in Denton, north of Dallas. PM me for details.

Less than MSRP, I would jump on it, The only Nissan dealer in the Springs here, is charging $2999 (markup) on all z's here, and 10K on the roadsters.

They are even adding $179 Interior protection, LOL, $599 clear bra.

I just had to laugh when I went their yesterday, way too funny.

BTW, I bought mine there for $800 below MSRP 3 months back.

I guess they are getting greedy.

GL on finding a decent price, but beware.

Yeah, my buddy actually just bought one in Colorado Springs. When he told me they wanted $599 (I think it might have actually been $699) for the clear bra I told him to tell them to leave that bogus figure out of their totals. He got a great deal when it was all said and done. They gave him a lot for his truck, several grand over bluebook, and MSRP on the car (either way you look at it, he got the savings, it's all relative).

So if you see a Silverstone touring 6spd with aero package and temp tags, give him a wave.

I got mine for $200 off msrp and didn't pay for the dealer add-ons like the crappy carpet spray, etc. Bankston Nissan up in Lewisville. I had to search long and hard to get this deal though. Keep looking, you'll find a sales guy who wants to deal eventually. And you will be so happy once you find him

The word from my salesman, Ruben at South Point (good guy), is that the production seems to be somewhat limited right now. He said they are charging over sticker right now, for 04 coupes, not just roadsters, and people are paying it. He said that a ton of Maximas got damaged by hail at the shipping yard or something also, and that as a result that is why you can't hardly find new 04 Maximas at the dealers anymore.

Simple economics people. Supply goes down, and demand goes up, price goes up.

I just got my Z last night from Trophy Nissan in Mesquite for $1700 under MSRP. I have been researching the car for ever (with the help of this site), and actually went to the dealer to buy a new truck. I test drove a Black Touring and fell in love. I originally wanted a Track, and my bargaining tool was that I really did not need or want what they had. When I sat down with the finance manager at first to talk about a truck, I was getting a good deal, and I mentioned the 350. He made it seem like he would do me a favor and give me MSRP because "that is what they sell for." I told him to go bang himself and miraculously I left that night with a $1300 under MSRP quote. (MSRP 34,710, their deal 33401). I told them that I would think about it. The next day they called and threw the typical BS about that is as low as they would go and they were only making ten cents on the deal. After I directly quoted the invoice price for the car and all options, there was silence. It is almost as if they do not realize people have access to this info. I told them the only way I would buy is if I got it for 33,000, and they said no. Two hours later I got a call that said OK but is has to be tonight or no deal. I said no deal and went to bed. Yesterday, I went after work and picked it up for 33,000, finance the entire amount through them at 3.59%.

They have more Z's on the lot. Call and ask for Brandon Cannady, he was great. Their finance guy was a vulture. You might want to wait until the end of the month like I did, but call Brandon and tell him that Brian that just bought the Black Touring sent you. I did not get a Track, but I will live.

Also, does anyone know if you can take the splash guards off without having holes showing. I just don't think the splash guards look right on a sports car.

boz,

how many miles were on your Z? That is where we went to test drive the Z's. The sales guys beat the hell outta those Z's. I beat the hell outta a brickyard up there. After all was said and done, I was like, "man I feel sorry for the guy that buys these cars."

There was like 20 something, and I put another twenty on the test drive. At delivery there was 46, which I think is a bit high for a "new" car, but I do appreciate the fact that they are letting people test drive the Z. Last year I got laughed at for suggesting a test drive, and that is why I waited. However I do not like the fact that, as you said, some 22 year old salesman was joyriding in my car. So far I am pretty happy. It is very difficult to adhere to the less than 4000 rpm mark for breakin, and I think that the mud flaps have to come off, other than that no complaints.

I saw a TV ad today for South Point Nissan in Austin. They are offering 3 grand off of all remaining 03 Z's. If you willing to check out their inventory give them a try.

I also got my MY03 Z from Trophy Nissan for $1500 under MSRP. I imagine since they advertise themselves as being the largest volume Nissan dealership in the country, they have more leeway with pricing. However their after sales service SUCKS, took them 4 months and a complaint to the Better Business Bureau before they credited me back my security deposit which they neglected to roll into my down payment.

Just to let you know, leeway with pricing has nothing to do with volume and everything to do with the sales manager.
